That ref should be shot. If he'd actually been watching the game and given us the goal we got, the entire match would have gone differently. After that failure, the team just gave up... Time to bring in goal line technology... (well, it was time years ago, but FIFA are just idiots)

I disagree on that HNM. If we disregard that particular refs' failure, which he definitely should have noticed, then....what is ANY kind of sport worth without failure? I'm absolutely against cams recording everything, just because they would make it SO boring. Sports actually live from drama and passion. So, if you put cams and people controlling every single step and breath and zit on your skin...ask yourself: is that what you really want? :) They actually even use cams in the goals' net corners, but these cams are not "linked" to the refs. Anyway...

It works for cricket, rugby, tennis, and probably a whole load of other sports I don't know...

Tomorrow Netherlands will be up against the big Brazil, let's hope for a miracle to happen :). It's so unfortunate to meet them in quarter finals. we will have to improve our game gradually.

Why do you think Germany hadn't deserved it ? They had a mostly young team with alot of new and talented players that played a great World Cup overall , besides they totally defeated Argentina easily , nevertheless they were to nervous in the game against spain , still a great World Cup , they totally deserved the 3rd Place , takes alot of guts to let so many new Players into the national team and play the World Cup , Müller , Klose and some others surprisingly and totally rocked this World Cup for me and I haven't been a bigger Soccer fan for years , after I saw the first matches they played I felt like starting again with it but I guess I don't have the stamina for that anymore .

Anyways , imo they deserved the 3rd place by beating top teams with such a new and young team and they probably won't get worse until 2014 .

Hooray for Spain, 1.0 in extra time is quite a feat, especially since they had less ball possession than the Netherlands in the 2nd half :)

I'll be happy when the USA starts to do a bit better in the World Cup. I am happy that Spain won, though.

Was a great final and a great world cup. Cant wait for 2014!!
