Recommend Me A Game!
 

Okay, Summer has rolled in and as usual it can get boring at times so Im looking for a new (PS3) game to entertain this unexcited gamer. Here's what Im looking for:

1. It's gotta be online: Preferably an online story co-op and definitely online "versus" matches and whatnot.

2. The game has to be good: spluh!

3. Has to be a shooter or RPG or both: like MW2 and ME, y'know.

4. It'd be nice if it had a good story.

5. It has to be something I wouldn't get bored of after completion.

Feel free to post any necessary trailers or videos if you want.

I leave you with this challenge to find that game as Im off. :)

How about Uncharted 2? It has fun co-op and versus online multiplayer and an excellent single player game.

Battlefield Bad Company 2? Brilliant online, so that ticks the "not get bored after completion" box.

Story could have been a little better I guess, but it ticks all the rest of the boxes!

I personally think you should check out the Marathon series. It has one of, if not, the best story of any shooter ever, it's online, it requires barely any processing power and best of all, it's absolutely free.

Yeah I had a look at a couple of reviews and trailers and it does look like a well conceived story and great gameplay but Im looking for something more "sci-fi". But if I cant find exactly what Im looking for I'll be definitely looking at getting Uncharted 2. :)

Hmmm..how exactly could have it been better, I like immersive stories so I might be disappointed buying it unless you can convince me the other areas make up for it.

I've yet to play but it looks AMAZING! It's on xbox 360 and PS3 iirc, so you can play it, and so can I :D

It's old. Very old. I'm not sure if you're into this kind of thing, but it's free so what do you have to lose? :P

I'd say Borderlands is the way to go. It's an RPG sci-fi shooter. It's awesome, though the story is really weak, but I'd say everything else makes up for it. You're on a planet called Pandora :D searching for alien technology and stuff, it's actually more like a desert than forest, you're trying to find the alien vault. 4 different characters to choose from, each has their special abilities and recommended playstyle. As you build your char towards the level 50, you'll receive better weapons, shields and class mods (they enhance some of your special abilities and general attributes). For each level you will have an option to enhance or add some new abilities too, so you basically build your character up with a good combination of weapons, shields and gadgets. The thing is, there are thousands of possible types you can find. Each item/weapon consists of many parts, each with some attributes, so it's about finding rare things and gaining more power. Awesome game, I love it. Currently have 2 level 50 characters:)

Im in this predicament as well. One thing I can suggest is a new Metal Gear Solid has come out if you are a fan of those games.

Also you might wanna check out Dead Space, I think it's even better than Borderlands, really one of the awesomest games this gen :D it's a sci-fi horror third-person-shooter with bits of RPG, lots of "woah I just **** my pants" and "wada hellz dat??" moments in there, rock solid atmosphere and great story!! Amazing game! Really buy both, but DS is better choice imho ;)

Btw BF:BC2... no no, if you're into CoD/BF hybrid with some clueless and linear maps then yes it's a good choice, but unless they will release BC1 map pack, BC1 is still vastly superior. Both are great online games, BC2 story was actually surprisingly good for a BF game, BC1 story was boring. But BF is an online game... I would suggest BC1 if you want to play more extensively and want some tactics-allowing maps. BC2 maps are really mostly just point and shoot campfest.

Probably isn't the game for you then. :(
It beats MW2 online in my opinion, but singleplayer... MW2 beats BC2.

Star Ocean has been a fave of mine for a long time. Very good game and much like Final Fantasy IMO

well i know games that fit those criteria, but not at once:

Yakuza 3 -still havn't finished it but the series has had EXCELLENT stories and there are many things you can do like side quests, activites to kill time and getting into fights :D but its not online

GTA IV/ Lost and Damned/ Ballad of Gay Tony -alot of people are over GTA but not me :) as you know its a 3rd person action/adventure/shooter/driving game. Theres a;so online play and many game modes. The lost and damned i especially like because its based on the bike gang culture, riding around liberty city on choppers is so fun (still havnt played ballad of gay tony, but looks really fun)

Avatar game -gameplay is very basic and you will finish the story quickly, its not really that good. but its got online game play and its something you should try as an avatar fan :D Although its not the best game, I love it because of the world they have created, its amazing. lots of detail

i actually dont like FPS so i didn't suggest any :P i'm bored of FPS, i got Bad Company 2 and was bored after 5 minutes of online play
