Jazz Thread.

Okay since we dont have one of these and I love Jazz I decided to start a thread :D

This is for any great jazz videos you have found and also any type of discussion about jazz itself. All the way from theory to just comparing musicians! Ill start with a few great videos ;)

One of my favorites Cannonball Adderley:

John Coltrane:

The purely amazing Buddy Rich!

Haven't been much into Jazz yet, but my colleague at work likes to listen to some, so it slowly grows on me and I'm starting to like it, though sometimes I get lost as I'm used to much simplier forms of music, but the stuff you got here is great. :) Today we had Soulive on along with The Meters I wanted to listen lol, I know The Meters are more like funk but soulive is kinda jazzy no? It was their first album, Get Down! Good stuff...

/takes a note to self to finally get some Django Reindhardt I wanted half a year ago :glol:

89.7 FM is a great Jazz Station (Only plays Jazz after 8:00 though)

I also listen to Watercolors on XM Radio or Smooth Jazz on AOL Radio.

Jazz is amazing.

I couldn't find a certain song by Soulive I was talking about in my first post, so I made a video and posted it myself. It's a catchy tune, hope you dig it. :)

err btw it's New York because I thought it fits the music and I just imagine NY when I hear it, lol.

Had to bump this thread. Found old videos from when I played in highschool and am mad at myself for not continuing playing :( Now entering my junior year of college having not played to often anymore has really hurt any chance I had of making a jazz band haha! Hopefully I will motivate myself to really practice and atleast try out!

On to a few vids!

Cannonball is probably my favorite sax player. He is the one who I try to sound like...still working on that part :xD:
