I'd hate JC if...
...he decided to kill Neytiri for the second sequel and make Jake a mentally disturbed character in the third movie. Something like, a schizophrenic Na'vi...
*Jake's alone in the middle of the jungle, sat in a fetal position; turns his head* "Neytiri?" *Quaritch appears from the nothing* "Hey Sully, how does it feel to betray your own race?" "AAARGH!" *Jake throws spear to the air* So, what would make you hate Jim? |
If he killed of both of them at the end of the third movie like in the Matrix trilogy. And it's not in Sully's character to turn into a wimp like that. Look at how Grace's death galvanized him into action.
Also if he says he's doing a trilogy and then it falls through and we're stuck with the dream and not the finished product...someone is going to get hurt. |
I don't want Jake to die! But if JC so wishes it I guess I might have to let it slide O.o He has to wait till the third movie though.
|
...if Avatar 3 took place on Earth, that would really suck!
|
I wouldn't hate him for making Neytiri pregnant for the sequel, but I would certainly not like the direction he'd be going in.
Also if the sequel has disgusting Aliens in it then I'd lose some respect for the franchise, I want the sequel to be magical and beautiful, not another sci fi/horror, not like something along the lines of Aliens 4 or something. |
He won't kill either of them off, don't worry, he knows what that would do to the fans.
If the next movie involves some sort of disease the Na'vi get, then I'll be annoyed with him, I can't really be mad with someone who gave me such an awesome movie. |
JC is one of the very few who can make a sequel that's better than the original so I don't think we'll be let down. As far as killing Neytiri in any of the sequels, he better not:'(:'(

is there anything else other than T2 as far as the "better sequels" go anyway?

not that i can think of atm, im 50/50 on jc, hated titanic but loved avatar (im a titanic buff so i wasnt impressed by the storyline he put out, not to mention leo sucks in my opinion). But i hope he doesnt do anything weird in the second one, and just continues the greatness with avatar without going overboard. |
I'd hate him if he let someone else direct the sequel. It's happened before.
|
I personally wouldn't hate him for doing anything to his own film. It's his world, after all. Besides, I already think he's pretty crazy politically and environmentally. ;)
But seriously, he's the writer/creator of Avatar. No matter what he does with the story, he isn't bound to his fans. He already pissed a whole load of people off with the first film; vice versa with us. If he was bound by the audience's opinion, there wouldn't be nearly as many haters of Avatar today. He risked much to make this film and present it to us with the message he wanted to convey, so how on earth could he care less about a couple of us fans "hating" him for something he does in the second film? It's like the writers of the PotC trilogy. People bash them altogether about the second and third films (mostly the third), but they forget it was also those same writers who brought them the first movie, and their decision with the sequels should be respected since it's their creation in the first place. Cameron works with his own ideas, in his own way. I don't care what he does in the sequels because it's his creation, not ours. |
If Neytiri were near death, I would be even more frightened. Seeing how James literally throws many deep-main characters into the story and than kills them. James threw expectation out of the window, and all we rely on are hopes. JC wants to get ride of the expectation, he may just tease us severely.

ok 3 things
1. Why kill of 1 or 2 main characters 2. Why did u make a thread about it 3. Its SKITZOFRENIC |

Very true this ^ |
If he did, current PAD would look like nothing...
I'm fairly sure he's not going to shoot himself in the foot like that though, because if he did, nobody would ever rewatch Avatar 2 or watch Avatar 3, and it would be a 'the matrix' situation - great film, shame they never made any sequels. |
