Why Does Everyone Spell It "Tsahaylu"?
it's tsaheylu!!
with an E tsahaylu would be pronounced sah-high-lu dammit, read the na'vi dictionary |
Na'vi is a relatively new language, so things are constantly changing. While it was spelled "Tsahaylu" in the theatrical release, it is now spelled "Tsaheylu" in the DVD/Blu-ray release. Also, last I checked, LearnNavi.org has it spelled "Tsahaylu" in their vocabulary.

ummm ... I guess it's spelled tsahEylu, cuz Na'vi isn't based in english pronounciation ... so we got to know they way it's pronounced thanks to Neytiri :D and she clearly said, "Tsaheylu"
|
I'm sticking with the A, just like I'm sticking with the K in makto.
|
Way to be a rebel, Dev. ;)
|
cause thats how most people think it sounds.
and it looks better. but Na'vi isn't a written language... |
We spell it Tsahaylu because its spelled that way in the Survival Guide.....which to me makes that spelling the correct spelling.
|
Tsaheylu and Macto but lol, no need to be cussing about it ma tsmukan

Ps the Na'vi language doesn't follow our rules for all we know something coule be spelled Txanten and be pronounced "Santen" or something crazy XD Spelling and pronounciation have nothing to do with eachother. And am I the only one who noticed that we pronounce Hay and Hey the same way? Just a thought. Also why in the world would an A make an I sound? Why would it be Ah-high-lu? We never pronounce an A as an I. |
I think people call it Tsahaylu since the ITsahaylu sig thing was made..
I normally call it Tsaheylu :) |
yay ! *high fours Pa'li* tsahEylu FTW ! :D !
About "Txanten" , in Na'vi the "x" is pronounced like a click ... so it'd be like T'anten :P Im not the best at Na'vi but im tryin to do my best :D |

I think you've sorted that out now, but just for your knowing, the word at first was spelled tsahAylu, so this is why it's like that in the "survial guide", but now it has changed to tsahEylu. It's nomal, for example words like kxener and kì'ong which at first were some fruits or somethin',were changed to smoke and slow respectively.:)
|
Umm... I don't care?
Just voicing my opinion on how I don't care, and for anyone else reading this who also does not care either. |

Sure, IRL-wise, Na'vi is a written language.
But lore-wise, it is NOT. In other words, you can spell tsahaylu exactly however you want. Tsahaylu, tsaheylu, tselaylu, awdcnoaw. |
I've always pronounced it with an E still...
anyway, it really doesn't matter because as Eltu said, technically there isn't a written form of the Na'vi language, only how humans have written it down to learn it. The Na'vi don't do that. |
Somebody click to give me an awdcnoaw.
|
A what in the how as the who has the what in the what now?
|
It was a joke on how Eltu said we could spell tsaheylu.
And if you don't like damn, how about WIYA! |
Ohhhh, now I get it. :D
Sorry, I'm tired :P |
