Cant wait for this horrible election here in the US to come to an end, also Im very upset with the oil pipeline bs going on in SD. Real life Rda :/

yeah i'm really upset with that pipeline too. it is everything that has gone bad with America, or should i say, the former America. one of my favorite actresses, Shailene Woodley, who is an activist in her personal life, was arrested there recently, while protesting the pipeline construction, peacefully protesting ON INDIAN RESERVATION LAND, illegally arrested and held overnight with 27 native Americans also arrested with her, and no one in the corporate-controlled corrupt puppet media is saying anything about it, or questioning the jack-booted gestapo thugs of our so-called 'law enforcement' who arrest 1st Amendment peaceful protestors, using full military gear and MRAP vehicles given to them by our corrupt federal gov't.

SaphirJD 10-30-2016 12:25 PM

politics.. all corrupt, all stupid...

You want to know what's really sick and disgusting? Some people used Polaris's death in an attempt to scapegoat SeaWorld for it. They claimed her death was connected to the Pacific Northwest orca captures that took place from 1967-1976 around the time the Lower Snake River dams were constructed and reduced the number of chinook salmon. SeaWorld was one of many marine parks that acquired orcas from them. While the captures did reduce the number of Southern Resident orcas orcas by thirty percent, they are not responsible for their decline now. The population got up to ninety-eight by 1996 before beginning to decline again. The real reasons for it are food shortage, habitat loss, pollution, boat traffic, etc. These orcas need help, but many people are way more concerned with protesting marine parks than they are about helping them. Going to the Pacific Northwest and protesting what is happening to the orcas there will bring awareness because you are at the source of the problem.

The worst thing when it comes to fighting for the environment is many environmental groups are headed by people who don't care about it at all. They enjoy the power leading brings them. Many of their followers care about the environment, but they are following people who couldn't care less about them. They have gotten bullied by their leaders when they questioned them, especially when it came to requests to commit violent acts. Absolute power can corrupt anyone, anywhere, anytime. No one in the world is immune.

Wind12 10-31-2016 01:34 AM

Whats going on with the pipeline, is sickening and it hurts to see my cojntry pulling this stuff, and the media, even CNN trying to spin it to the pipelines advantage, I mean if it was Fox, it would be one thing, but seeing that video feeds were being blocked on FB from the area shows how hard they are trying to cover up the inhumane practices that they are perpetrating. RDA States of America :/

We are truly in the end of times.

berryrabbit 10-31-2016 10:45 AM

I recently learned of a dirty little secret Canada has hidden about its children. Children in that country are being placed into the hands of abusive relatives. This is despite required backgrounds checks have shown they have proven to be abusive. A little boy named Jeffrey Baldwin died from horrible abuse and neglect at the hands of his grandparents. This resulted in the rules being changed and requiring backgrounds checks on all caregivers. Unfortunately, they have done little to stop abusive relatives from getting custody.

moonbeam 10-31-2016 01:39 PM

Man, we are having super fun times here, I tell you what.

On Monday I learnt that jokingly saying "Bye, love you." to a co-worker when leaving will get you fired for sexual harassment.

I voted! #Gumby2016

moonbeam 11-09-2016 10:31 PM

Well, it looks like Trump won. And some of my friends are freaking out about.

Dr. Na'vi 11-10-2016 12:21 AM

All the sh!tposting and extra spicy memes on both sides, and now we have the inevitable meltdown. Total ****ing pandemonium on reddit and 4chan in the last hours, absolutely crazy!

I still strongly disagree with some of trumps opinions, and I think he may not have the necessary political experience, but we will see. Actions speak louder than words.

My reaction was similar to Bernies: shock and concern mixed with a healthy dose of Schadenfreude, because Hillary got what she deserved for being so complacent and playing unfair:

I have been blackout silent in the AVATAR community about my political views during this election. No seven page posts and no memes from me this time. I'll keep my post election analysis to myself this time too. I don't want anyone here to hate me. All I'll say is I voted and this was my first time voting. I voted for the candidate who I thought could move the country in the right direction by passing policies that will result in meaningful change. :)

moonbeam 11-10-2016 03:50 AM

Man, after seeing some stuff on Twitter and Facebook, it looks like everyone is freaking out. Both sides are. It's getting a bit scary. There's people protesting in New York about Trump.

Username checks out :P

Democrats will call me a "racist" and "bigot" for sharing some of Trumps views and Trump supporters will call me a "libtard" and "communist cuck" for sharing some of Bernies views, but I don't really care or take that seriously.
The exaggerated reactions perfectly prove this black and white thinking everywhere.

It's sad that it is almost impossible nowadays to discuss politics, people will always find a reason to hate, even if it's small differences. Doesn't even matter if I'm 70% Bernie and 60% Trump or the other way around, I will always be hated by certain members of both sides ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But I agree that ToS is not exactly the perfect place for political opinions, even in "random thought and chatter"

Smirnoff 11-10-2016 06:38 PM

Dr.Na'vi,now that you mentioned it,I think communism is only way that can save this world. %99 of people here will disagree with me here but this is my opinion.

it seems alot of my friends have jumped on the 'trump-hate' bandwagon with little or no research beyond what the media says.... most of them haven't even seen a single speech from donald trump or hilary clinton -.- personally, i i dont see the point of me getting riled up about the US elections because i live in the UK - still.......... if your going to hate a politician make sure you know what your talking about - and what you hear from other people or in the newspapers doesnt count.:hmm: nowadays if you even say the word donald trump - people will literally attack you...... what happened to freedom of speech? "I might not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."

For those who'd really wish to discuss the political ramifications of the recent events, it'd be fine in the debate subforum - I will, of course, enforce a certain degree of civility :)

Ja'k Dawsiin 11-11-2016 03:28 AM

i voted for neither of the tired old fossils, but instead wrote in my candidate of choice...Senator Elizabeth Warren, who is actively going after corporations and trying to change their policies and hold them responsible for their actions against people and the environment. i hope to see a female President in my lifetime (not emailary and her puppet husband) so maybe we'll see Senator Warren in the 2020 race.

this next four years shall certainly be interesting, to say the least. lol

Wind12 11-11-2016 06:11 AM

Well we all know who the next POTUS is going to be...

Sadly, imo we are in for alot of sawtute insanity these next four years, Pandora is looking better and better.

Empty Glass 11-12-2016 08:59 AM

Alright, so I've now been to a couple movie showings that have an orchestra performing the movie's soundtrack underneath the screen, and I've enjoyed the experience more than expected. You know what movie would be awesome with the live orchestra treatment? Yep - I'm thinking sometime before the sequels roll out there should be a screening of Avatar somewhere with a massive ensemble of instrumentalists and singers performing the entire soundtrack along with the movie. It'd be a nice tribute to James Horner too. Dang would I be stoked to see that happen if it could.

moonbeam 11-13-2016 04:04 AM

Even thought I don't play, I've been collecting Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I now have a Dark Magician and Blue Eyes White Dragon. There are two pretty cool cards. There were my two favorites back in the day. But now I feel the need to stop collecting now that I have them.

Ja'k Dawsiin 11-14-2016 04:40 AM

most people move in the warmer months...i'll be moving in early December, trying to close on a very nice 1985 brick traditional townhouse. so damn tired of renting, and using my first time homebuyer benefit. i never knew it would be so much hard work and pain in the butt, buying a home. geez louise. wish me luck, still got a bunch of inspections and paperwork hurdles to go. *sighs*

Wind12 11-16-2016 06:25 AM

I hope it works out for you Ja'k, maybe the weather will be unusually nice for the move ma tsmuk.

I'd rather move during the colder months myself because the heat sucks. I've moved and helped many others move in 100°F heat. Anytime I'm involved in moving anymore it would have to be during the cooler months or at night. I wish you luck Ja'k. I hope it all goes through alright.

:)

That sounds cool. I feel like I'm so unrelatable because it's like everyone is into either Magic cards, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Pokémon. I'm over here like... I used to collect POGS. lol

Looks like Shelley Duvall is doing an episode of "Dr. Phil". It brakes my heart to see she's mentally ill. She was part of my childhood.
