Wisdom teeth SUCK. Mine are growing in. Not fun.

One of mine impacted several years ago and I had all of them removed.

I remember thinking at the time that it made my top five list of most painful events. But it hasn't left the lasting "I'll always remember what that felt like" as some of the other things I've had to endure did.

Du'tey 12-23-2013 11:42 PM

I can feel my top two growing in. It sucks.

Country should split into two genres, one specifically for the crap.

So basically there's outlaw country from the 60's-80's and then there's crap.

Cyvaris 12-26-2013 04:39 PM

And I come back....to a fight over Country music, interesting.

Well, I made it to Christmas/end of the first semester of my first year teaching. Hurray! Sadly, got an entire second semester to look forward too.

I think in order for it to be a 'fight', there has to be an opposing side.

Touche.

An amicable squabble then?

Note, we need a Na'vi emoticon that includes a monocle and top hat.

Well pick something else to fight over.
And I hope you don't teach English.

English and Grammar are two different things....possibly.

What grades do you teach?

Cyvaris 12-27-2013 12:39 AM

6.5, 7.5, and 8. The .5's failed their previous year and are not allowed to advance until they pass all their fall semester classes. If they don't pass them/make them up before Spring semester starts they are bounced back down to 6/7.

Moco Loco 12-27-2013 11:32 AM

That sounds like it could be fun if you're mostly grading essays, which I think I remember you saying you were. Otherwise, I mostly hate the idea of teaching if only because of how repetitive it would get.

The Writing classes I have are essays. Reading 100+ of the bloody things every weekend really sucks.

So, how was everybody's holiday?

Slow and lazy, as every holiday. Not to mention unproductive. But I'm tired of doing productive things all year so that's great.

moonbeam 12-31-2013 03:39 AM

I'm drinking tea out of a Ninja Turtles mug. Life is good.

I remember when I had a ninja turtles mug. Life was good then.

Kudos to you! :D
The original comic series was addictive.

My holidays was pretty neat, I got myself a Sega Megadrive 2 and have already finished Golden Axe and Golden Axe 2. :D Apart from that, I got stuck into some good food.

Pa'li Makto 12-31-2013 11:49 AM

What's wrong with a little overindulgence?

Moco Loco 12-31-2013 12:53 PM

I mostly don't feel like I overate this year. There was only one night when I thought, damn, shouldn't have eaten all that because now there's no room for beer.

It's never just a little.

Marvellous Chester 01-02-2014 12:51 PM

Court refuses trial by combat - Telegraph

Quite an old story but I've only just found out about it :xD:

Pa'li Makto 01-05-2014 04:43 AM

That would be quite the spectacle.
:P
But seriously..It would be easier to pay the fine.

On a side note: I started to play Morrowind again and realised just how big the regions are. O.O
Ald'ruhn and Balmora are my favourite places to go.

I check the emp museum Avatar traveling exhibit schedule every few days and I keep seeing that. I don't know if I should be hopeful or concerned. I keep hoping it'll return to the Liberty Science Center or if it'll somehow make it's way to the Museum of the moving image (also relatively near by).

Marvellous Chester 01-05-2014 08:19 AM

@ Pa'li Makto

Hehe you're probably right. I simply admire him for trying to honour the ancient ways :)

Yeah, it's easy to forget after playing Oblivion and Skyrim. I also thought Morrowind had the most interesting environment too, those enormous mushrooms and gnarled trees are pretty unique ;)

Moco Loco 01-05-2014 11:04 AM

I like Starbound.

Cyvaris 01-05-2014 05:56 PM

Bahh tomorrow is Monday. Winter break is over. Back to suppressing my murder impulse and hoping my students actually learn something.

Just don't touch them.

Pa'li Makto 01-06-2014 06:41 AM

Hey Stag, it would be interesting to see what the guy could come up with. Maybe he has a suit of armour hidden somewhere. :P

I know right. The Shivering Isles expansion has a similar feel to it. Especially with the intro with the room turning into a mass of blue butterflies. :)

@ Cyvaris: At least you're trying to teach them something. Maybe that might get through to them.

Marvellous Chester 01-06-2014 05:10 PM

Pa'li: If he is suggesting a duel then who knows what he might have in his house. Perhaps he has the samurai swords and Ghurka knives tucked away too ;)

Ah The Shivering Isles, that was indeed a fun land to explore. And Sheogorath is the best political leader in history (Out come the intestines!)

Murder impulses eh? ;)

If they refuse to learn I suppose it's their futures down the pan. You still get payed at the end of the month :P
