I'm Going To Be Away For Several Days.

Before I get started, I would like to say that I'm not really good with words, and most of the time I end up pissing myself off because I can't adequate convey my true feelings. So bear with me, and I apologize in advance if I start to sound preachy or hateful.

It's not like I can really find much time to spend here anyways, due to ayskxawng parents not understanding (but that's a different rant), but I'm going to be completely away from ToS from 7/12 to 7/18. Even though I get ten minutes to post on the forum daily, at best, it's just enough to keep me from going insane. (semi-seriously)

**rant warning**

Well, I'm going to a religion-based summer camp on Oklahoma. :( Well, I personally hate organized bigotry religion. This doesn't mean I don't believe in anything, but I personally believe that I don't have to go to a special building to practice my religion. Generally, from experience, organized religion such as church sort of facilitates a kind of mob mentality of superiority, like: "Heh. We're all better than everyone else because we come here and sing about god and hear some old white guy yell at us about our problems." It's sickening. And I have to do this for a week straight. *shiver*. Away from any kind of Internet.

And I don't have a choice either. My dad was like "You're going. And you're going to like it. Or else." And that's where I'm going to be, intellectual hell.

It's times like this that make me wonder why I haven't snapped, or just ultimately given up. Sometimes it's just really hard to live at all. And now, on top of normal life's problems, I have to give up ToS for a week (one of the few things that keep me going) and live through a week-long, church session. I fear for my mental stability.

P.S. I realized that, through this whole post, I never mentioned exactly what religion I practice. I am Baptist Protestant (or so they tell me).

A week?? I wouldn't be able to spend 10 minutes even 10 miles from a place like that. >.<

Good luck mate and please come back just as you are now. We know how organised religion likes to use propaganda. :L

.

i went to one of those camps once. they're fun until you get to the religion part of it.
we all await your return.

We will miss you, brother. Or sister. (needs input)

Don't listen to old church men. They don't have the balls to do anything about their problems, so they yell at others to do it for them.
Este Fideles, fratrem Sight Unseen.

I commend who ever can translate Latin.

Hmmm, that doesn't sound too fun mate. What you COULD do is be a little distruptive in an intellectual manner.

For example (WARNING: Potentially extremely offensive sentence ahead, no offense implied or intended, highlight the text for spoilers!), you could ask a question an old friend of mine proposed to me several years ago: If Jesus were hung, would we worship a noose?

I would hate to have to spend a week in a place like that, so I feel for you. Again, similarly, I don't feel there's anything wrong with religion but the whole weekly gathering, money collecting, political side of it just doesn't seem to have a place in whatever particular belief system the individual happens to describe to, whether they're involved in it or not.

Best of luck, ma t'smukan. Make the best of your week!

Hmm, it seems I looked at the wrong line on the calendar. I'm actually leaving 7/5 (this Monday) for 5-6 days. :/

That's not offensive. +1 Valid Point.

Brother. :D

But I am going to have a bit of fun f***ing with people's minds. I'm going to pack my Avatar T-Shirts. Might even talk about time travel paradoxes and the age of the universe. (all controversial topics) Oh, and geology, and dinosaurs... :war: Personally, I believe that god does exist, in some form, and Science is 99% right. All of the unexplained so far, I attribute to god. I find that this provides the most mental peace.

Txum_kali'weya 07-04-2010 06:05 AM

Oh.
well, we'll still miss you.
and messing with peoples heads is fun. :)

Sorry I didn't notice this thread earlier... I guess you are there now :'(

Edit: Not yet, I see.
Remember who you are, ma tsmukan. I'll see you back soon. Don't let those idiots brainwash you.
We will always be here for you, and I'm so sorry your parents are still being unreasonable... :(

NOBODY CAN EVER TAKE WHO YOU ARE FROM YOU. Know yourself and you have nothing to fear... just keep remembering, think of us, and you'll get through it.

Kiyevame everyone, I'm getting on the bus in less than an hour. :(
I will be back, by Sunday.

Dammit, I wish I had time to reply to a few threads.

Human No More 07-05-2010 09:27 PM

... :(

We're thinking of you.

Sight Unseen 07-10-2010 11:39 PM

Well, I'm back.

To make a long story short, I spent 6 hours a day for the last week getting yelled at about god and being forced to listen to Christian soft rock and Christian rap. ugh.

A few interesting things did happen though. For instance, the pastor mentioned that he saw Avatar four times. Then he went on to use it as propaganda to explain the New Testament. :/

For the most part, when I wasn't waiting in a queue at the cafeteria or in a lecture, I've been chillin in my bunk listening to music. real music. What they play at the camp makes 2-3 hours of hardstyle or death metal a day a practical necessity.

Pics later, maybe. (If I can get my *ahem* copy of Motorola Phone Tools working)

Oh. Just wondering, did anything really important happen in the last week I should know about? It seems I'm always the last person to catch on to news. :P

It's really, really good to be back. Hopefully I'll get some time soon to chat on the IRC.

Sounds like a blast. ;)

Welcome back, though.
