When you think of Neytiri...

What comes to mind when you think of Neytiri?

What serves as a visual or audio queue in your brain that triggers when you see her, watch her, hear her, or even think of her?

Take a look at this picture. In my mind, all of my thoughts, feelings, and emotions for her are centered around this picture like a whirlwind.

The song Mated for Life comes to mind primarily when I hear her name. And it almost makes
me sad to listen to it, seeing as I can't have her. :(

These are just the few things that I envisage in my mind when I hear her name. It's very interesting to think about.

She's heightened my standards of women on this Earth, and I find myself comparing them to her. It's very sad that there are so few people out there in this world like Neytiri, how nice it would be if there was. That would be perfect.

In short, I decided to make this thread for you to post absolutely anything that comes to your mind when you think of Neytiri.
If anything else comes to my mind I will post it also. :) So have fun and post away.

rasomaso 07-02-2010 10:58 PM

dunno, perhaps... Neytiri? :D

Na'vi_supporter 07-02-2010 11:28 PM

When I think about Neytiri, I see her unlimited beauty and soul. She has very nice personality, she cares about her people, she can trully love, she fight for the good and she is independent. In my eyes she represents my ideal definition of woman and best friend. But still ... it's not possible to express my feelings by words, it all sounds like cheap phrases and I don't like them.

PhoenixRider 07-02-2010 11:35 PM

Did someone say, NEYTIRI?

Hunter of the Glade 07-02-2010 11:58 PM

When I think of Neytiri I divide her persona into three parts:

Warrior
http://i50.tinypic.com/2j62udk.jpg

Lover
http://i45.tinypic.com/69pa0w.png

And of course, a party girl that you can have some serious fun with :D
http://i49.tinypic.com/2i71isi.jpg"]...om/2i71isi.jpg

http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/x..._RoverDeDo.gif

Call it corny but it is what it is. Ah...@%#$#%@$#%@$ SHE'S PERFECT.
*Calms self* Anyway, back to posting things that come to your mind.

I loved that one lol, wouldn't mind having some fun with her either :P

IMO it's not really possible to describe Neytiri in words (even though we try to in the screencap thread:)) No, she's more than that. The best way I can describe her is that of an overwhelming rush of emotion. Neytiri is perfect in my view: body, mind, and spirit:)

That song is a very good choice and it does remind me of her:(

rasomaso 07-03-2010 12:39 AM

Ohh god, the soundtrack is perfect!

Earthlover18 07-03-2010 12:51 AM

Seeing that pic of Neytiri makes me realize how lonley I am (i've never had a gf and i'm 18:(). It's been said a million times but Neytiri is simply perfect. Just simply having a conversaton with her and looking into her eyes would be the best thing I can imagine. Also it makes me hope that I meet a one of a kind girl like her when I start college this August.

Marley 07-03-2010 12:57 AM

When I see that pic... First thing I think of: The kind of girl I will NEVER have in my life! :'( :'(

Sad I know, a lot of girls I seem to know are either nasty or just not for me.. :(

Hunter of the Glade 07-03-2010 01:03 AM

The way I look at it, if the girl doesn't fit my Neytiri standards, then she pretty much doesn't deserve me. Odd saying, I know. But this is almost like a curse on me that makes me look at women completely differently. It makes me EXTREMELY picky...picky to an extent when at times I just want to drop my standards and give more people chances...but I can't allow myself to do that. Cause my standards of women are stuck high... :\

rasomaso 07-03-2010 01:09 AM

give more people chances? :D you must be real popular with the ladies... :glol:

Hunter of the Glade 07-03-2010 01:48 AM

Raso you would. It's hard to explain, it really is, but that was the only way I could put it. Finding a Neytiri on this planet is harder than you think.

Empty Glass 07-03-2010 02:09 AM

What comes to my mind... One is the relationship that I used to have with a girlfriend from a few years back. She was not simply Neytiri as a human being, though in retrospect she had many of the same personality traits. Or maybe I just think that because I felt the same kind of deep love for her. In any case, it was ultimately a very rewarding relationship. To cut a long post short at the risk of sounding vague, for me Neytiri serves as a reminder of that kind of relationship which I want to eventually get back into someday. For now, the elusive lucid dream will have to do.

Hunter of the Glade: yeah I know, I'm just messing with you :) jokes

Boomachucka 07-03-2010 02:47 AM

What usually pops into my head is the line "You have a strong heart... No fear." Which is one of my favorite parts of the movie. That or "She already has". Mmm, both great parts!

Amazing lines. Her voice just completely changes and gets lower once she says that. Very striking and poise.

Woodsprite 07-03-2010 03:41 AM

Since I've done so much with photoshop and technical reference from all sorts of pictures, when I think "Neytiri" I usually think of some project where I've used something related to her. Or else I just think, "Oh. Yeah, Avatar; she's the semi-main character." :P

Doesn't sound like much, but that's me.

That's kind of what I thought. Her character really comes through on a much more personal level, and... Hmmm. I don't know, it's a little hard for me to describe I suppose, but I'm willing to bet you know what I mean. Goosebumps, for sure!

josie20 07-03-2010 04:50 AM

I'm sorry guys, I just don't think of Neytiri anymore. :(

Human No More 07-03-2010 05:15 AM

When I think of Neytiri, I think of pure beauty... perfection...

Stanley_9875 07-03-2010 05:37 AM

When I think of Neytiri, I get the most amazing, unspeakable feelings ever. I can't get my mind off of her. I daydream about her constantly. I picture her in nearly every scene of the movie, her voice echoes through my mind. I see her big glassy golden eyes, I stare deeply into them, and its like I can see her soul... I picture her beautiful face, with her amazing features, her bioluminescent dots, her gorgeous fangs, her adorable ears... I picture her amazing body, her incredible figure, the bioluminescent dots, her amazing sexy tail, her movements and how smooth and perfect... and her personality. In two words, "dream girl." She's perfect. Her kind heart for others close to her and nature, her respect for others close to her and nature, and just how fearless and strong, physically and emotionally, she is. She is able to captivate my heart, and will always captivate my heart... forever

This pic demonstrates why Neytiri is so great. She wasn't about to leave Jake there even if that meant she was in grave danger. Neytiri is completley selfless, she is willing to fight and defend what she loves to the death.

Unconditional, pure love.

Empty Glass 07-05-2010 05:15 AM

To me, the image of her that stands out the most is the shot of her face during/after she's said "I see you" in the shack at the end of the movie. That smile just gets to me like no other smile I've seen, and the look in her eyes, I mean...wow. She's almost too beautiful, I feel like I might as well be looking straight at the sun.

All the words describing beauty and my love for someone in the world isn't enough to describe her beauty and my love for her

I think the question would better be what DOESN'T make me think of Neytiri? :P

Loads of things do, but mainly a little song lyric or something will set me off.

Posted this a while back, made me think of it (<--clicky) :) good memories

Hunter of the Glade 07-07-2010 02:36 AM

I agree, Stan. We get that "ecstasy" feeling because we TRULY have deep feelings for her. The feeling of certain songs coupled with her pictures...well psh, that's a potent mix.

For me I'd have to say this song really brings out her party side, the side that I believe is the most important.

Why does this unusual song come to mind? Well I was in a similar circumstance as you, Stan. I was listening to this song and I was around 2:02 specifically as I pulled out my phone just to check it (total coincidence). My wallpaper at the time and the song just blended together as the line played: "She's got that teen spirit." And it just seemed to flow perfectly, because hell...Neytiri seems to have more spirit than any person I can think of. :'( :)

I agree, great story! And yea, she does have an amazing spirit, she fights for what she truly believes in :)

Actually one of my fantasies is me raving with Neytiri to some beautiful trance songs, surrounded by people, but no one close enough to interfere with our connection to each other. Our hearts both beat rhythmically to the beat of the music and with each other, the lights, lasers, and strobes flash around us, there's beautiful people all around us, and we're lost in each other, dancing together like no tomorrow. We dance in slow motion as the beat stops and the synths continue, and speed back up when the beat drops back in, her tail wrapped around my leg, we tsahaylu with each other, and we fully and truly See each other, what we truly want, who we truly want; each other. We love each other unconditionally, forever

Fkeu'itan 07-07-2010 10:06 AM

I can see why that makes you think of her Stan, the lyrics and the music... just really, really nice. :)

This is the song I was referring to in my case.

Some of the lyrics are a bit unrelated but these;

"I think you are beautiful,
and you know it by one look,
did you long for summertime
when you were growing up"

"Well your life's just a breeze in eternity,
why not take this one chance and come fly with me?
Just this once,
just this second that soon will be gone."

"If this second was your life,
what would you do?
If this second was your life,
I would love you,
if this second was your life,
would you love me?

If this second was my life,
I would love it,
if this second was my life,
I would love you,
if this second was my life,
I would happily die."

Really do set me off into one of *those* moods. :)

Hah, I figured someone would post the image(s) I mentioned! But here's something honestly really weird about myself: I could not have put them up because for some reason whenever my eyes detect that shot of Neytiri in the shack, I nearly always automatically look away, or scroll away, or don't let my eyes pay attention to her. Again, it's really weird: I instinctively don't let myself look at her in that scene. Actually this reaction of mine has decreased a little bit recently, but I still feel roughly the same way.

I think it started when I first saw much smaller-sized copies of that image on AF. Somehow my eyes played a trick on me, and I saw Neytiri's own gaze directed not towards where her rescuee would be, but straight towards me instead. As if I was in Jake's exact position, looking from his own perspective. Instantaneously, my heart would race with excitement yet something inside would tell me not to look at her, and I'd obey to the point where it became a habit. After a lot of pondering, I've come up with some possible answers why:

-I may actually be afraid of her. Don't get me wrong, if she was real and focused on me with that light in her eyes and that smile which I think is the most beautiful smile I've ever seen..."melt with joy" would be an understatement of how I'd feel. But barring that or any similar scenario I think I'd feel nervous and terrified if I had the chance of meeting her. And I think that is because...

-I would love to share love with her if she was a real person, but I would not feel worthy of it. In my mind I would not measure up to her, personality-wise. The flaws that I see in myself would prevent that. (Consequently, I am always evaluating my own character on a day-to-day basis, trying to be someone that a woman like Neytiri could love. The thing that I always tell myself is "I want to be worthy of that smile.")

And lastly...

-I don't look at that image because I don't want to memorize it in my mind. I don't want it to lose the utter beauty and emotional power that is inherent in it. People on this site have said that "the magic is gone" for them in regards to the movie in general...well, I don't want the magic of this one scene to ever leave me. I can not think of a more pure expression of true love in any other movie I have seen, and there is no other scene in Avatar that I think of more than this one.

There could be other reasons...my mind can be strange sometimes.

Fkeu'itan 07-13-2010 11:54 AM

^Wow.

And I thought I was the only one. :)

All those answers seem kind of reasonable to me too...
I particularly have the thoughts of being 'worthy' as well.
