Well well well. This thread sure looks familiar. I haven't been here for over a year, and I'd like to declare this thread back open and requests are open, as always!

I love the embedded movie type thing within the image - how did you do that? Also, I've downloaded the GIMP drawing software which is ok, but a bit odd to use. Can you recommend other free stuff, and should I buy a graphics pad/tablet?? I love to draw but am still at the pencil paper phase....have used a mouse with GIMP to erm, a poor standard :)

It's rather easy to do. Make a random signature in Photoshop (I recommend Photoshop due to a lot of experience with it) and make an area where you want the animated image, with a transparant background. Then, make your animation in Imageready and transport the Photoshop signature into Imageready and add them together and done!
Personally I think GIMP is the best free program out there. I wouldn't recommend buying a tablet, I used one myself but found myself more comfortable using mouse and keyboard. Your opinion may vary, of course.
If you want to make actual drawings with a mouse, get a gaming mouse (Razer being a good brand) with a high and accurate/steady and stable speed for clean, accurate drawing.
