Our Avatar Communities' Film Project Update.

Kaltxi people,

Another update on our Avatar Communities' Film Project being undertaken with people from both here and Avatar-Forums to 'send them a message' that we need to look after our home planet...

Incoming footage:
More footage and dialogue has been received and incorporated into the film. This has been from the Czech Republic, Australia, Canada, America and England. So a real big IRAYO to Na'vi_supporter, tm20, Fko Irrtok, Sempu, Unil Makto, AV Daedric, This One Goes To Eleven for the real effort they have put into help to make our community film a reality. Footage has also been filmed by a couple of others, Stanley_9875 and Tawtute_Tsamsiyu, and is still to be uploaded. Again a big IRAYO to you for the effort you are putting into this. There are still a few others who still have to do their filming, irayo to you too. We'll look forward to adding it into the film.

Rushes Editing:
I spend a fair proportion of Sunday busy editing away with the footage that I have had in so and I've put together a short rushes edit for you to see how it is coming together. Although it is all edited together as one piece (apart from near the front) there are still a lot of shots to dovetail into what you will see. But hopefully this will give you a flavour of what it is starting to look like and give you some encouragement to know that it is beginning to come together.
There is still a bit of a way to go yet and still an number of shots available for people to film. So if you are inspired and interested in contributing to this forum film project, then please PM me and I will send you a link to the script. Anyway enough of me rabbiting on. Take a look at the story so far:

Tsmukes still welcome, please!:
Following on from the last update to this Avatar Comminities film project asking for some tsmukes (sisters) to join in the filming fun, we had one step forward. We really need more sisters to join the party. We can't have this as a male dominated film, it wouldn't be right. So ladies, please get in touch. Hopefully, you can see from the footage that has been taken so far there is nothing complicated and it is beginning to shape up really well for saying we don't have much in the way of film making experience. Just a bit of enthusiam to help try and make a difference as a result of what we have gained from our Avatar experience.

Filming in Nottingham:
I didn't get out of filming and consequently went into Nottingham city centre to film the shots I needed to do. This was an interesting experience filming in a rather crowded area. Had a bit of a problem with a drumming demonstration and had to film in between his racket...errr, I mean music:D
Funnily enough no one really took any notice of me filming...apart from the kids! There was a Spannish school party that walked past where we were filming next to Nottingham Castle and asked if we were from the BBC! I also got asked if I would go out with someone's mate! A bit young for me though at 12. :D Amazing what a camera does to people! Still managed to get the footage in the can. For a bit of entertainment I've put together some bloopers of me trying to do my bits to camera. So if you want a laugh follow the link below:

Anyways, there you go, another update and if it has inspired you to take part and have go, please feel free to get in touch with me. Irayo.
Your friendly forum film maker.
Eywa ngahu,
Alan

I really would be so keen to get involved, but have no video camera :( Thanks for the updates. Aaaand the bloopers :D Must be great when people blatantly stand in front of the camera like that... :D

Just curious, why does the rushes edit look choppy? As opposed to the bloopers that seem to look smoother?

TxonTirea 07-14-2010 07:33 PM

I won't film, but I'd love to help edit if you want to.

Very well done so far. I'm rooting for you participants.

Well, there are voice over parts if you would like to do them if you have a way of recording audio. Yeah that was funny when they just stopped in front of me. They didn't have a clue...but by the power of mind control I got them to move...err...ok we just waited a little.:D

Well they look choppy because they were rushed....he, he, he! Hmm, I'm not entirely sure, but I'm going to investigate it. It might possibly be because the timeline has a mixture of NTSC and PAL video formats. But I should be able to sort that out with a bit of conversion before the final edit. The bloopers were from just the one camera.

Thanks for the offer friend. I will keep it in mind. At the moment I have the shots laid out in Sony Vegas. It's a shame they haven't invented that transported device as we could then sit togther and edit it! I don't surpose you're a musician at all are you?

Yes, that reminds me, do you want it in NTSC or PAL?

Good question. Of course I have to say if you can do both then that will cover all the bases and I would be much abliged. However, if you can only do one, then NTSC will be best as the majorty of the footage will be in NTSC. But it will be going out in both NTSC and PAL to the relevant countries. Thanks.

Alan
