Red Pill.

Come on!

You know I am tired of speaking the same bullsh*t day by day, of always moaning on the same reality, on the same dream! You've seen it on every post I made here, on every chat I had with you; and I am as tired as you are, trust me!

I said to myself I had only two options left: live in the sh*t or change it; and I refuse to do the first one. But can't make the second one happen all by myself! The whole world is a place way too big to start doing things on your own, full of people who can blow your serenity and ideals as if they were smoke: too many obstacles, too many walls to be torn down!

This is why I ask you just for the first and last time, my friends, my brothers and sisters who have seen what I've seen, who have felt what I've felt and seek what I seek to gather and fight for the only goddamn thing worth it!

For this planet, for our species and ourselves!

Shout out loud your life has value, that you're not just part of this cynical machine; prove you're alive! Claim your humanity! Otherwise; you'll be just a statistic, another one, part of the masses, nothing in the nothingness.

We are not just someone else, we are not a number; we are US, we have identity, we have a name and a story behind it. We are true, we are real.

Because they have underrated us, because we are capable of great things, and we are still human beings who still think by themselves, who still can feel pain and who can still realize what surrounds them.

Because we are still alive, fly with me, together, with no fear, full of hope.

Damn straight Zenit!

We sure can talk the talk, but i'm still trying to figure out how to walk the walk.

I know the feeling... Things ARE happening, almost imperceptibly often, but things have been set in motion.

Aquaplant 07-15-2010 01:41 PM

And do what exactly?

You have a way of talking grandiose philosophical things, but what is it really that you think can be achieved by all this, because all I see is pretty ideals with no practical value whatsoever.

But none of that is required for life, it's just another luxury, padding to make life seem more comfortable than it really is. For example, when you go to the supermarket, you don't know the cashier there, and you don't need to, he/she is just a number, a statistic, a convenience for others. The world wouldn't be any different even if there were a robot in his/her place. Granted, a robot or any other tangible object is as real as a person, but I don't think that's really the thing you are after.

We may be capable of great things, but again, it's not required, nor is it even possible for us all. The ability of sentience is a wasted one, when life itself holds no requirement for such trait. Everything works far better and efficiently when we just do what we must, and stop the useless thinking about things that can never be changed.

Look at your precious nature for example, animals don't need to think, they don't need to be individuals, yet they still flourish in the way that's expected of life.

It is not required for us as mere individuals or animals, but we are more than that. We're not just animals who act for their survival: we are, first of all, conscious that we exist and thus we think and wonder where we come from, thus making us free and responsible of our acts at the same time; and second, we have able to use reason and thus we need knowledge to fill the existential void.

As social animals we need to interact with our fellows, thus leading to social structures which may be fair or not. As we can know what's around us, know when the situation is harmful to ourselves, we also have reasons to react and work for a change, for the better, for the common good.

We are not merely animals. We're something else: we are conscious, rational and social individuals.

It might not be necessary to be so, comparing our situation with animals'; but we are this way and what we do is necessary for us.

Not everybody craves the changes. Some are perfectly happy in their little worlds.
