This is Sad, Very Sad Only - They Did Not Have to Die.

I guess I'm posting this to ask everyone to today take a moment to send a kind thought or prayer to both this family below and to any family that has lost a child.

Yesterday my husband and brother were the first responders to a terrible, terrible accident, a hit and run of a child on a bike whom didn't make it.
I will not describe the horror of the scene they had to deal with, nor the plight of the mother and sister whom had to witness that scene as well. Suffice to say this is nothing more than absolutely tragic.

The other sad part .. is that had the child been wearing a bike helmet .. he would have survived!

Our thoughts go out to this family and to the safety of all children, youth, and families from the horrible crime of drunk driving.

This did not need to happen!

:'(

I do not pray, but I swear I will keep them in my thoughts and wish the family to recover from the tragic loss. I can't even imagine the pain of his mother :'(

Elyannia 07-17-2010 03:47 PM

That stuff is sad =[ I once witnessed a car accident with an old lady who hit someone turning in front of her and she didn't make it. Very sad.

Fkeu'itan 07-17-2010 04:44 PM

Very, very sad indeed. :'(

I'll be sending as much good energy as I can to them right now...

Advent 07-17-2010 11:57 PM

I'll pray they find a place for them in heaven. You have my word as a Catholic. :D

josie20 07-18-2010 04:16 AM

I'm praying.

This is very sad. :'(

A hit and run? I hope that person get's their due justice.

Tsyal Makto 07-18-2010 05:43 AM

Indeed, very sad only. They're in my prayers. Things like these speak for just how fragile life is, that you can get snuffed out at any moment. Makes you really feel the need to appreciate the time you've got. :'(

Fkeu 'Awpo 07-18-2010 06:08 AM

Wear your helmets, kids.

Советский меч 07-18-2010 08:06 AM

Drunk drivers who kill someone need to be put on deathrow after the 2nd offense.

Agreed. Some people don't practice safety because it isn't/doesn't look cool. Yeah, well, it doesn't look cool to be dead either.

I agree with this, as well.

Human No More 07-19-2010 07:10 AM

That's sad... Sorry, but I can't do anything but say something here :(

Stanley_9875 07-20-2010 06:32 AM

This is absolutely beyond the word terrible. I cannot imagine the absolute horror of a mother witnessing the death of her own child in such a gruesome manner. My opinion? Locked up for life. He deserves whatever punishment comes to him.

They will be in my prayers.

Empty Glass 07-20-2010 08:25 AM

It's a cruel fact of life how the direct victim of a drunk driver gets killed while the driver him/herself typically stays alive.

Oliver 07-20-2010 09:00 AM

This is sad.. i hope the mother will be okay :(

Advent 07-20-2010 11:44 AM

If you're going to destroy anything, remove alcohol. The non continued existence of one driver does not stop a million others.

Advent 07-20-2010 11:51 AM

Yeah. I don't see that happening either. But is a beer worth someones life?

Fkeu 'Awpo 07-20-2010 12:03 PM

Depends who/how much beer.

Advent 07-20-2010 12:07 PM

Lol. People do much for beer.

Kinda like if you had to kill someone for Neytiri. In this forum people would say: "Of course not. Why would I do that?", though their thoughts are rather obvious in many cases.

Fosus 07-20-2010 03:35 PM

Alcohol and cars have always been a very bad combination.. :(

he/she is with Eywa now.

Advent 07-20-2010 10:22 PM

Hey! Wait a minute!

This is Earth, you know. Unfortunately, they don't have the pleasure of being with Eywa. They're just in a coffin, under a ton of dirt. :(

Tsyal Makto 07-20-2010 11:07 PM

Well that was a mood killer.

Both. Fosus was trying to be respectful, and Advent kinda ruined it.

This is sad...they are all in my thoughts :'(

Mika 07-27-2010 05:10 AM

Suffering and tragedy are part of the reality of being human and everyone's life, and to support another through tragedy with empathy and understanding is sometimes all that we can do.

Here is the humanness behind this tragedy.
