Do You Believe In True Love?

A simple question, do you believe in true love, like you see someone for the first time and you love them, you don't even need to speak to them, , you just feel like you need to be around that person?

do you believe in true love?

Tsmu`kan 03-17-2010 07:26 AM

I had it.

It destroyed me.

I never want it again.

J Sully 03-17-2010 07:28 AM

yes i do....

but this sort of love is very hard to find

Apollo 03-17-2010 07:33 AM

I do believe in it, but after dating several persons, it's kind of hard to believe in such a thing. I'll find it one of these days. I just hope I'm not like Neil Young, who had to search the world for his Heart of Gold.

Gunny 03-17-2010 07:44 AM

eh, im not to sure if I believe in it. I feel you have to somewhat "know" someone before a statement like love can be thought of.

Define "True love"

Lyra 03-17-2010 08:12 AM

My definition of true love :

You would go to the end of the world and back for the one you truly love, you would give your life for them, just for them to have another day on earth. You would give up heaven and goto hell just for them to have a chance in heaven.

Fkeu'itan 03-17-2010 10:37 AM

I like to believe there is such a thing, but I think it's getting ever more difficult to find.

Aquaplant 03-17-2010 12:55 PM

The real world is too complicated for "true love", as is the concept of "true love" at least equally, or even more complicated. So in a sense we got complexion to the power of two, so how could anyone truly understand something like that?

Shatnerpossum 03-17-2010 06:58 PM

I don't know.

Not especially useful or profound, but true.

Shining 03-17-2010 08:05 PM

Yes, but I'll settle for Navi Love for now.

I guess, I'm far too realistic and too rooted to the soil to believe in such a romantic and poetic formulated thing.

I believe in "People are different and differencies sometimes match.". I believe in "get things going". I believe in shared rituals boosting the bond between two people. I believe in knowing each other and accept and like all side of the partner. I believe in "sharing time because you want to share it and not being used to share it.". I believe in separated but associated with each other.
And i believe in butterflies in my tummy.

I don't know if that's love, but that's the things I believe in.

fkeua vrrtep 03-17-2010 08:44 PM

The day I receive it , I'll start believing , until then I'll remain sceptical .

Tsawke`Iheyu 03-17-2010 09:11 PM

It depends what this "True Love" stands for... it can be love for what you do, love for best friends, love for... that special someone. I believe in true love, but I don't know if it's still alive in our age. We live in harsh times, and love isn't that thing that leads us to what we do... hunger for money and power. We might felt love in another life, when people were more united, more close to each other...

Tudhalyas 03-17-2010 09:19 PM

I believe that "true love" means finding someone that just feels the same as you, that fully understands you and therefore is completely in tune with you. It's really hard to find such a thing nowadays, since most people care more for what you have rather than what you are.

Long things short: you are truly in love with someone if and only if you See her (or him).

Anyhow, I still believe that such pure love can still exists today, and I'll struggle to find it.

Leonopteryx 03-17-2010 09:31 PM

I believe it exists, it is just a matter of finding that person. Its like there are "pairs" of people in this world, perfectly suited for each other, it is just a matter of finding them, this happens, just VERY rarely.

so it exists, you just have to find it. most don't.

Brandon Kellum 03-17-2010 09:59 PM

I believe that it does exist, but the meaning of it has been dumbed down by our society. The line between true love and mere attraction is confused by most people. I know that there is someone out there that completes me, that I have a deep connection to, I just have to find her.

Skxawng 03-17-2010 10:53 PM

True love exists, but is impossible to define. It is very rarely found now-days but I hope I do become one of the rare ones someday :)

Human No More 03-17-2010 11:21 PM

I think it exists, for some, lucky people.
Unfortunately, not for everyone though :'(

Rabbit 03-18-2010 09:08 AM

It does exist, I beleive true love to be in tune with someone elses soul to know how they feel without asking to just be able ot look into their eyes and know, I beleive that you can be with that person and be without and feel the same becasue you know they will return, you can trust them with your life and know they trust you with theirs, I beleive that they can help you through your darkest times and stand by you through any situation, I beleive that when you are close there is an energy between that never fades, I can go on but I don't want to ramble lol.

But yeah anyway True Love does exist, there are Neytiris/Zoes/Jakes for everyone here and im sure that one day we will all be with the 'one'

rapunzel77 03-19-2010 04:53 PM

It does exist but you have to work hard at maintaining it since selfishness and the ego can get in the way. Love requires will and sacrifice. Some have it and many spend years looking for it.

do you believe in true love?

The way that you put it there, no.
I don't think anybody can just see someone they have never seen before and fall in "love" with them. That would be solely based off of their appearance really.
I think you have to know about them first.
I believe in true love, but not at first sight.

Chris 03-19-2010 09:37 PM

i sure hope it does.... but do i believe in it ? Lets just say ill remain sceptical

Agree. I actually had this happen to me. After about a week of constant communication with a lady friend - out of the clear blue - I began liking her. But it was a connection like I've never had with someone. We are completely open and honest - not to sound cheesy. When you find someone that you can be totally bluntly honest with - I think that is your true love right there.

Gunny 03-26-2010 06:06 AM

I said before Im not sure if I believe in it, well I dont in the original way it was stated in the post. However, I do somewhat believe that sometimes there are people lucky enough to find that person who they cannot seem to stay away from. They truly feel the desire to be with that person to really be happy. Or no matter what they do or where they go they always find that person, or go back to that person. That is true love in my eyes. Doing anything for someone.
