I hate having a packed desktop with all them 3rd party sidebars on. I just have a clock, cpu check and Gmail notify! (:
I usually have no icons, but I have Crysis and stuff in my Games folder!
Background is awesome. Being totally honest, I don't like Avatar backgrounds, they distract me from working.

And just if anybody gives two shiny ****s about that Game Programm... folder, it has a 14 slideshow lecture on game ethics, physics, gameplay, design etc. Very good read.
