Good day to ye players of the zombie apocalypse.

Well, might as well get to the point.

I have cracked the L4D2 censorship code!
For any who request it, I can post exactly what to do!

Also, this thread can be for just general L4D chatter, and any plans or thoughts you have for L4D3!
I've made heaps....

I got L4D for PC. Never played L4D2

It was a good game, only played the first two of the campaigns, then got a little bored of it.
Was fun times though.

Australia saddens me sometimes. :facepalm:

Okay, okay, I didn't do it alone. But in the end, I ended up cracking it for myself.
And if you're talking about the recent steam high about how to crack the code, that was me. My brother told the R-18 group how.

...Damn that bastard not giving me any credit...

I got L4D and L4D2 both PC versions.
And no censore in my country :P

Well, it's good most don't have the censorship scandal.
But for those who do, or our lurking guests, I'll post how to:

1. Go to your Steam folder.

2. Go in 'steamapps'

3. Go in 'commons'.

4. Go in Left 4 Dead 2.

5. Go to the 'Steam_appid' at the bottom of the folder.

6. Change '550' to '510'

7. Go to 'Left4Dead2' folder, with the folder icon. Should be near Left4Dead2_LV.

8. Go to 'Steam' file at the bottom. Icon has a cog.

9. Change the ID to 510.

10. Make a shortcut of the Left4Dead2 Application, with the symbol.

11. Enjoy your game, now with gore!

Tell me if there's anything wrong, and I'll try and fix it for you. :D

Lol that's pretty cool, so when did you figure this out?

Well, there's 2 ways of figuring it out:

1: I saw these App ID folders in the L4D2 folder, and looked up the appid's for L4D2. 510 had gore on it.

2: Then, my brother found out and posted it on steam. He didn't know what to do, so I gave him the link to an instructional video.

And don't think I'm making this up, because I've been in steamapps before.

I've done Crysis cheats.

I've done Titan Quest cheats for my sister.

And, I've even played as Tali by modifying player files. :D

Worked this out just 2 days ago. So far, everything's fine.
The chainsaw is so much more lovable with gore. You don't want to know what it looks like without.

(zombie runs up to chainsaw)

(falls down)

....

Actually, I have seen some of the censored gameplay, and you're right, it's terrible. :P

Anyway, I'm calling bullsh*t on your claims, considering the game was cracked many months ago. Hell, even the demo was cracked, back in Oct.

1. That doesn't make you special. I've been inside folders too.
2. Cheats? Oh you are so hax0r.
3. I'm inclined to believe that you did not figure this mod out yourself. Based on your lying and because that picture isn't yours. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. When do you "figure out" this mod?

As I said, I figured it out 2 days ago.
And if it was cracked months ago, well...
..no one told me. So I did it myself.

And yes, that picture wasn't mine. I'm just using it as an example. Yeesh.
And I didn't say I was special. I'm just saying, I've done this stuff before. I know what I'm doing.

And of course, I didn't get all the info from my head. I ain't Einstein, in case you hadn't noticed. I know how to do this stuff, as apparent when I unlocked the gore. I need the information first though.

Anyway, this isn't about me bragging that I cracked my game. I made this thread to help other censorship victims, and to just talk about L4D.

Back on topic, what are you're expectations for L4D3?

Hmm. Still, I'm not sure of this hack is completely fault proof.

I'm going to look up the L4D2 IDs again. See if there's any others.

And I did crack the code. For this household. :P
Still don't get how it was cracked months ago, and no one found out. There's a massive group of L4D2 veterans here, and they've been trying to get past the system for ages.

Did discover something though. It reverts after you shut your computer down. :(
So, you have to go back and change it to 510. Tell me if there's anything else wrong. :D
