Tsu'Tey: Warrior of the Omaticaya
Here is to Tsu'Tey - the fearless warrior of the Omaticaya!! :war:
A man who lost everything, for the benefit his people Show love (or hate if you must) |
He was a great warrior.
|
Tsu'tey had one really great part, when Jake returns, and he says "I will fly with you" :)
|
Yeah, that was a great part.
|
For some reason, I started liking Tsu'tey much more after the second viewing. I think that despite his opposition to the hero (Jake) he was still a Na'vi and of a good nature. He had good intentions, if a bit ignorant of the Skypeople and their capabilities.
I am always sad when he gets killed now :'( |
Tsu'tey was cool, sad when he died. Looking forward to the extra scene with him in.

"A rock Sees more!" -Tsu'Tey

Tsu'Tey was like any warrior of the Omaticaya should be.
Brave, eager to defend his people and willing to put their own personal feeling behind when helping Toruk Makto |
I really hope the scene with Tsu'tey drinking with Jake will be on the DVD release. To me, when I read that in the script, it really made me think more of him. The other part that did was the one I mentioned before, "I will fly with you..."
Ofc, just thinking about what happens to him though... :'( |
I think we see the essence of Tsu'tey, the nobility of his character, and why he was originally chosen to become the next Olo'eyktan, in how he eventaully comes to peace so to speak, when Neytiri chooses Jake over him.
Clan Leaders would be chosen based on their qualities of being able to keep the Clan safe both from external and internal dynamics. A leader would have to have a lot of wisdom and the ability to 'see' past their own personal perspectives for what is best for the people. So despite that Tsu'tey must have been heart-broken and felt completely betrayed, and probably wanting Revenge, ultimately when it comes time, when Jake returns as Toruk Makto, Tsu'tey's noble character shows through, because he puts aside his personal feelings, calls Jake his brother, and chooses what is best for his people. He sacrifices his 'pride' for the greater good. And then he 'sacrifices' his life for the same. Which is why i felt his 'death' scene so powerfully. |
But.. he lost NEYTIRI. Can you even imagine such an event? I had respect for him every moment he didn't just kill everything in sight :D
|
i must repeat myself
I don't want Tsu'tey to be really dead. It took me a few weeks, but now i am sure. Even if we know he is killed by Jake in the end, i would really love to have seen him in the sequel. Why? Because Tsu'Tey may not be too kind to Jake through the whole movie, in the end they sort of understood eachother (the toruk makto thing sure helped a lot) and it would be really interesting to see them work together. Tsu'tey could have learned Jake a lot about the male part of being a Na'vi. And they could have been brothers, as in close friends now that they got a bit more into eachother. Even if Jake took a lot from him (his future wife, the attention of the clan, the biggest part in the final battle by becoming Toruk Makto) i think Jake has showed Tsu'tey all the respect he (or not, according to his way of bullying Jake a bit.. ghe ghe) deserved and always stayed true to him. And since i believe Tsu'tey had understand the whole thing in the end, i feel sorry for them not to get to know eachother a bit more like hunting friends, drinking friends. But maybe that is just because he seems to be the only other young male that gets involved with Jake in the movies. he was a strong honest character and he will be missed. I hope that in the sequel jc will come up with another male character like Tsu'tey. |
