And the sequels :) So he's most likely going to shoot the sequels back to back, with at least one having motion capture performed underwater. The budget for this will make the first film look very inexpensive in comparison :P:D But it sounds like one hell of an undertaking, and he's the guy that can could do it :) |

i have problem with it too, my guess is he make little mistake in inter :P |
16 to 17 minutes...
What's all the buzz about 6 hours then... |
The 6 hours was the initial table read, I don't know why everyone thinks it was 6 hours of footage.
And I guess they decided to omit the 40+ mins of un-finished footage, probably for the best I guess. Any idea when its coming out? |
Grrrrrr....
What ever happened to the 45 minutes of extra stuff? I supppose if it's really unfinished I can understand it, but still..... |
There's absolutely no way that the original cut is 6 hours. I remember they only shot 45 more minutes than the final release version. In any case, I really hope they don't release too many versions because I don't want to go broke. :P
|
The whole six hours thing is where Sam said in an interview was the first version he watched or something, it could of had different versions of different sequences or something.
|
Thing is, Cameron said "DVD version" when he mentioned the 16-17 extra minutes... But he never said anything about the Blu-Ray. Should we just assume he meant both? Or was he really just talking about DVDs only?

Do we know when this next dvd/blu-ray release will be? I wish it was more like the 30-45extra minutes they originaly stated, but hey, i'm happy with anything.
|
Hopefully in december in time for christmas maybe i'll buy it as an after-christmas gift and sell the bareboned Blu-Ray i own.

16-17 moar minutes on the DVD and BD? Well, that's how people make money. They're taking advantage of us. First there's a normal version, then a special edition (and all fans want to have these additional minutes on DVD/BD no matter what), maybe in 2011 there will be even 30 minutes more? :( It's always all about money... :(
But on the other hand - additional 16-17 miutes? WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! :D:P |
Epic :D
I hope it has some nice new bonus features too :) |
What I've always been waiting for was a feature on the DVD or Blu-Ray where you could watch the entire film with a split-screen or picture-in-picture of the actual film paired with the footage from the mo-cap studio.

Imo it would be illogical to do only dvd ver, but if they do that i will be so sad :( |

Also, there is no way that they will only release it on DVD and not Blu-ray. There is just absolutely no way. If they are going to have three versions of the movie, and all those other special features, and all the bonus features in 1080p I assume (I hope), then Blu-ray is the only way to go. James Cameron was pushing Blu-ray as the best way to view Avatar. |
This link has some, well, interesting news.
