Glow-in-the-Dark Woodsprites (Idea)!
I was thinking: I have a bunch of stars on my ceiling and walls of my room that glow in the dark.
Basically these below are what I have all over my wall: When my room is completely dark, it's like you're looking up at the night sky. :D NOW. I was thinking as I was looking at these before I slept last night...what if these could be woodsprites from Avatar? Someone should seriously create a product line of realistically-sized glow-in-the-dark stickers of woodsprites. :) How cool would it be to shut your lights off at the end of each night and see this in your room...:) http://www.swissmadevfx.com/AVATAR/A..._HASSAN_04.jpg I'd buy it |
someone back on AF was selling woodsprites but i dont know if they glow in the dark. its in the arts & crafts section
|
if they were 3-d I'd hang them up all over my room :D
|
Do want :)
|
I might have an idea on how to make them.... hmmmm.... yesss... it's coming together in my mind...it might be possible....
AS soon as I have a prototype, I'll let you know. |
Can't wait to see what you can come up with.
|
It's going to be a while, just did a quick search for thread like fiber that glows in the dark... it's not going to be exact but it might give the right impression.
|
Sounds like an excellent idea!
Anyone know if you can get paint that glows in the dark like that? If so, I think this may well be a project i'll take on. |

Glow in the Dark Project Gallery Glow in the Dark Using pigment or powder probably would give the best effect, vs waterbase! |
Maybe you could get one of those cheap fiber optic lamps from Wal-Mart or whatever, cut some of the fibers off and hot glue them in the shape of a woodsprite, the put a blue LED in the center of the fibers where the body of the woodsprite is and hang it from the ceiling with small enameled wire hooked up to maybe a DMX lighting controller (expensive) or MCU(cheap), and do this maybe 20 times, and you now have a ceiling full of floating (enameled wire is so small it's basically invisible in the dark) controllable-brightness woodsprites...
Woah I was just typing without thinking and pulled that idea out of nowhere... I gotta try that. :) |
I remember those stars...i wonder where they went
|
Not a bad idea at all. :)
I'd buy loads! What would be even more awesome are actual plastic 3D woodsprites instead of stickers. I'd buy those too.:D |
You could cut them out of fluorescent blue paper and use a UV light. :)
