"HELL YEAH!!!" (SE spoilers)
********SPOILERS********
Tell me I wasn't the only one who was grinning end-to-end when Neytiri actually uttered those words during the hunt. ...I think that was the point in the SE where I completely fell back into the same fan-craze I was in when I first saw the film on December 18th... I have to find that screencap and make a caption with it... I thought the hunt scene was pretty much the best added scene. Really... as much as I loved the other added material... this was the best. Any here feel the same?!?! :xD::awesome::D:):P |

It caught me by surprise also. But she did more than just utter them, more like scream:xD: and yes the hunt scene was great |
Same!
I am feeling all of the emotion I felt from when I first saw the movie. I was smiling. Infact It got a standing ovation after it was over! :D |
That Sturmbeest hunt caught me by surprise. So much so that I almost fell out of my seat. Not only that, but I almost died from a heart attack. The entire scene was just so overwhelmingly epic.
I would've watched entire movie back-to-back if I could, but the neck cramps I get from sitting for three hours kills. I've decided to hold off today... and go watch it again tomorrow! :D |
My reaction to "Hell Yah!"
This is so exhilarating! Yes! Yes! F*** you! |
I'm going to post a message as to my Avatar SE trip, but this scene made me want Neytiri more than ever. She's so cute and adorable, just how she sort of looked up to Jake in a way there and used one of his phases just made me smile so much
|
You totally weren't the only one smiling. I was caught off guard, and that made that moment great! I loved it and was grinning like an idiot. The SE rocked my socks!
|
Hell yeah! :D I loved that scene!
|
Trust me. Woodsprite, you weren't the only one wearing a huge grin at that moment. :)
While I agree that little snippet was so very cute on Neytiri's part, I also thought that the tsaheylu scene was so profound. Again, just a tiny little piece, but it meant so much... |
Same here .... :D and that 'foreplay' one .... :D oh and neeeeeeeeeeee-teeeeeeeeeeeeee-reeeeeeeeeeeee.... :P
|
Yeah that was a fantastic addition! Jake really was "Death from Above". :D
It took me by surprise though. I thought it was a battle at first. The music suggested so but then I realised I was the hunting scene JC was talking about. The "Hell yeah!!" bit was awesome. I felt like jumping up in the cinema and saying it myself. :D |

The music went well with the hunting scene! |
Haha, I literally lol'd in the theatre when she said that, my fav added on scene was probably Tsu'tey's death :( Tsu'tey is now my favorite
|
It was excellent!!
I laughed at the bit where the failure of a Na'vi who fell off his Pa'li had to jump out of the way of the stampede :P But it was also good to actually see how good a hunter Tsu'tey was aswell, because we'd never seen him in action (besides when jake pwns him and the battle) |
Was Peyral there? I can't remember.
|
(Of course Peyral would be there! But... does it really matter that much?)
The bullet holes in the school, ties into Grace's speech to Selfridge about 'killing children' if they take down Hometree. The way that the little scene of seeing Sturmbeast before the waterfall tied into the hunt scene, how Eytukan's death tied into Tsu'tey's ... I cried at Tsu'tey's death.. it was an extremely touching scene. 'I'm not officer material' my ass.. And still there are scenes that I know were written that are still missing. The theater sound was way too loud for the battle scenes.. I actually had to plug my ears because it hurt. And no.. it's not a case of 'if it's too loud you're too old' kind of volume. It made my 20 year old son even plug his ears and he likes going to Raves. In a lot of cases, extra scenes in a movie are scenes that didn't advance the story a lot and were taken out for a reason. In this case, there was a lot left out that made the original version flat for a lot of people. Even this little extra 9 minutes made all the difference in the world. (hehe) I am sooo looking forward to the novel and the extra scenes on the dvd! And there is no reason why anyone should be depressed after watching this movie. It should give you energy and a reason to interact with other people and look for ways of making your life here so much more than just living. Okay... I'm done for now. Hoping to see it again with someone who hasn't seen the movie at all. |
Hell yeah!
Fun scene. |
That caught me completely by surprise! I busted out laughing when I realized what she said :D
|
...... Hell Yeah...... :D

Loved it :D
Great to see Neytiri enjoying things too :) Quote:
I'm genuinely sorry you don't understand :'( |
HELL YEAH!!! :D
I laughed when she said that in the theater! :awesome: That made my entire day when I saw that! |

the unfortunant part was a bunch of immature girls giggling throughout the scene  And I love how much more in depth they got with Tsu'teys character. The last scene with him broke my heart. Quote:

For me the "hell yeah" scene just made me love Ney even more!! I love that it shows a lighter side to her, and Jake brings that out in her. I also felt it developed their relationship a bit more leading up to the love scene. We got to see the process of Ney falling in love with Jake - not just the other way around.
I feel like I haven't truly absorbed it all yet. I think the more times you've seen the original version the more the new scenes take you by surprise - cause you know the movie back to front. Anyone else feel this way?:) |

While those words, (especially screamed) contribute to Neytiri's wild nature, I find it amusing that she harbors such a hatred towards humans, while the Na'vi have no such word for hell, I believe. And I'm not certain, but I don't think they have a word for 'YEAH!' either, for that matter. |

They're hunting the sturmbeest from their ikran, Jake shouts it first then Neytiri flies after him and copies him :P |
Quote:
I'm having trouble describing my words this morning. :P |
Yeah, she probably thinks it's his own war cry (you know, the cry of the Jarhead Clan), so she imitates. :P

I think a longing for something you can never completely have would be a more accurate representation of my depression. |
So, I just got back from seeing the rerelease after pretty much completely losing interest in all things Avatar (I know, I know, it's a crime D: ) and I'll just say that it was amazing!!! I felt completely invigorated after seeing it and the new footage really added to the movie in my opinion.
I laughed when Neytiri said that. I thought it was cute that she copied him. One of my issues with her is that I never really understood why she liked Jake and that she doesn't really show that she does, and that sort of showed a very small glimpse that she may even look up to him (which is kinda ironic, lol). And, guh, that scene with Tsu'tey. I got a little teary eyed, which is really saying something, cause I do NOT cry in theaters XD. I thought it was neat with the whole "last shadow" thing and the acting was pretty good there. I was also afraid that the love scene was going to be really awkward, but it wasn't at all. It was exactly what it needed to be, no more. Really glad I got to see it!! And the theater was absolutely packed much to my surprise! It's great to see that so many people love the movie enough to see the rerelease. I heard these two guys talking behind me that, not meaning to be stereotypical or anything, didn't exactly look like the type of people who would care about this type of thing, talking about which of the new scenes were their favorite, so it was obvious they'd seen it more than once. Pretty cool. :) |

I am in college now and can't see it :'(:'(:'(
Was there any new music? |
So I just got back from seeing the re-release as well.
Mind Blown. All the added footage made it seem like the original theatrical release had some plot holes, at least to me it felt that way. Every bit of new footage was brilliant. The extended love scene was perfect, random bits here and there were great as well, a couple scenes were unexpected. All in all it was another wonderful experience, and I can't wait for the special edition on Blu-ray in November.:) |

@Earthlover: Ironically, though the hunt scene was my most favorite of the additional material, it was my least favorite, musically. I was really really really really really really really really REALLY hoping that the music editors would include THIS cue: But they didn't.:angry::angry::facepalm: But I did find the additional music added for the extended love scene to be quite pretty. They actually used one of the cues that was included in the soundtrack, that wasn't used in the actual movie before. :) Other than that, that's all. :S |
Well towards the end, when you know what happened, the song "Bioluminescence of the Night" off the OST played. I always wondered why that song was on the CD but not in the movie. :)
|
Quote:
Arrrgh, you're right! I thought that was Becoming One with Neytiri. I think my ears are broken. :P:S |
That music cue for The Hunt fits the scene so much better and leads into the next scene perfectly. It is a variance on the War music, not as much percussion and more horn. I hope they change the score and the movie when they put it on dvd to add that music in.
|
Indeed! The hunt scene was definitely the best part. It was the one thing that I believe fit into the movie perfectly. Very glad JC put that in there. :D
Semi off topic: When I saw it the other night, every frame seemed to speak to me. I couldn't help thinking "OH, that's 'so and so's' picture on Tree of Souls" when certain screencaps went by throughout the film. :D |
