Maps of Pandora?
Are there any good maps of Pandora?
|
This has been asked a few times on AF before. As far as I remember from what was said is that there are no official maps of Pandora and the fan-made ones are few and not fantastic.
But this was months ago maybe a good one has turned up since. |
Apparently James Cameron created an entire globe for Pandora. I don't know if the fans will ever get the chance to see it though.

The videogame has a conquest mode which is a risk style minigame of the world.
I know this most likely isn't what you're looking for but its the next best thing. I couldn't even find a pic of this. Had to make my own from a screenshot of a video. http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/7938/mapyo.jpg Its a rather rough shaped globe but maybe its representative of the real landmasses? |
Interesting. May be based on JC's maps, but I don't really consider the game canon.
|
Map of Pandora - something for the Collectors' Edition maybe?
|
This is a really really cool idea.
I also want a map of the floating mountains. It would be so much fun to go and climb 'em! You would have to do it without interfering w/ the Omaticaya though...they might get pissy about people running around up there for no reason...... |
The Avatar game for PC has a view of Pandora which lets you scroll around it. Actually, there are two, a turn based strategy minigame which lets you gain bonuses in the main game, and a 'travel' map where you select the location to go to. Nothing more detailed though :(
|
I like the idea of a map in the Avatar novel, a la LOTR.

But I want it to be big and fold out of the book ;/ |
any decent map would be great

Maybe this? :)
Check 1:56. |
I'm sure one was created, JC is very thorough :)
Nothing has just been released of it though... :( PS. thanks for the video :) |
i hope there is made a map over Pandora! that would be cool
|
There was a faint glimmer of hope when this thread got bumped that someone had found one. Sadly, it is not to be... yet. :(
|
No luck yet....hmmm, I am sure it will come.
|
Perhaps when the Avatar novel is released, there will be an appendix with a map, Na'vi dictionary, etc. Like what Tolkien always did. That would be neato.
|
If only Pandoran Botany and Geology was credible course to study in college...
|
I saw something on google, but there were two. And thoose two maps are diferent and tehy seemed to be in Czech. Only the mine and the Hell's Gate are on simillar place and they're near to Omyticaya. So I don't know if they are correct.
|
If the only ones were in Czech, I'd guess not, as much as I'd like that to be true :P

A lot of work doing such a map. I remember there were some maps long time ago with the areas surrounding Omaticaya. Like this one :

to Moco Loco: Thanks! :)
to Iron Jones: :P :D Quote:
|
Well it's a pretty neat map anyway, even if it's fake :)
|
Based on some of the place names, I'd say it's based on the Avatar game.
|
I agree with you both.
But cloud be cool when James Cameron make a map :D |

I thought an expression, but my skills in english are miserable :P
|
Probably meant "could be".
|
*random thought* I wonder if JC has ever visited ToS...
Anyway idk if that map was based on the games, only one of those names looked fimiliar (might be my memory idk..) Does anyone know when the novel is slated to be released? |

Maybe the map of pandora has been put into one of the books released?
|
I have one of those books and no, no map inside... just fauna and flora, Na'vi rituals and RDA equipment :(
|
There's behind the scenes, survival guide handbook, graphic book, and few others... so no map in ANY of those?
Weird. You'd think they'd at least put a map |
They should do one, because I like the idea in your status :)
