Said that 'Avatar 2' may be delayed because of the recent earthquake activity in japan, insecure to shoot underwater scenes in the area when there's the risk for new coming activity :S :(

James Cameron to Shoot 'Avatar' Sequels at Higher Frame Rates, Aiming for 'Reality'

Well, there's been enough news about that now, now they have to do it :D

So no one is concerned that the Avatar 2 may be delayed?

Not until we get news either way, really.

So what was the article ^ then?

It just means they'll have to change shooting location from Japan to...?

Anyway, the actual shooting for Avatar2-3 won't start for another year to a year and a half. Plenty of time to look for another location.

Where was 'Avatar' filmed?

The intention was to film some underwater footage there, at the Mariana Trench. you can't film that elsewhere. Although really, it can always be filmed alter, and it just means doing the motion capture work beforehand instead. The actual motion capture can be done anywhere with a large studio with the proper equipment.
