Avatar sequels: tech update:

Cosmic Log - The future of 3-D moviemaking

Quote:

"Three weeks after 'Avatar' came out and it was breaking all these records, we were actually sitting at a table with Jim and Richie and all, and we were talking about what we screwed up, what are we going to do differently, what did we do wrong. We pointed out all of our flaws even as the movie was breaking all these records. So we're constantly re-evaluating what we did, how we did it, and the mistakes that we made. That's important. To stay on the bleeding edge, you have to recognize that you are making mistakes and then adjust."

I don't think they made any mistakes... apart from not having more Neytiri of course :D

I completely agree with the comment above this one..
More Ney'tiri is happy fans.
Happy fans means more movies..
YOU FINALLY GET IT? :xD:

Check Out The Sequel To Avatar:
...
The Last Airbender‎

AAAH, had me fooled, Google!

Maybe JC just has a awesome sense of humor and The Last Airbender *was* the sequel, that non of us watched.

Apparently it was really bad, and didn't even make sense in the context of the anime, although I have never watched either myself.

Also, they dropped the "Avatar" part of the title specifically because otherwise people might go "What does this have to do with Avatar?"

Moco Loco 07-30-2011 01:24 AM

Haha, well good thing JC got in there first, or people would have seen "Avatar" and thought, ugh, not that piece of **** again, let's see something else. Especially with as little advertising as he had put out in the first place, some people wouldn't know what it was at all :xD:

Human No More 07-30-2011 02:52 PM

Then he'd just have had to name it Na'vi :P

Sacred Tsahaylu 08-01-2011 04:05 PM

I actually kinda liked The Last Airbender movie. The acting was pretty terrible but the martial arts were nice. I've never watched the series so I'm not totally offended by its deviation like fans.
But if that was the secret sequel, I think I'd die of despair...
'mon Avatar 2!

Moco Loco 08-01-2011 06:01 PM

I haven't seen it, so personally I can't actually judge it, but EVERY person I've talked to other than you Tsahaylu has said it was garbage. I also did not really follow the series.

I have a friend who was a very avid follower of the series and he was so enraged by how bad the movie was that he pirated a copy of it then shot it to smithereens. Literally shot it...with a gun. I can ask him for the link to the review he did of the movie if anyone want's to see it, it's pretty funny. The shooting is at the end.

Was just looking at this thread again for whatever reason, and realized-- there's going to be a sequel to The Last Airbender?
Is anything more full of fail?

Clarke 01-12-2012 02:10 PM

Considering the mess that was TLA's critical reception, I doubt it. :P
