Kinda the opposite of SaphirJD's thread.
Post your favourite heroes, a picture or video, and why you like them. :D

I'll start with mine.

Samus Aran, from the Metroid Prime series. One of the most awesome heroines in gaming, and part of one of the most awesome game universes.

Phillip, from the Penumbra series. Armed with only a pickaxe in the first game, and nothing in the other two, he risks his life to uncover his history.

V, from V for Vendetta, the movie and comic series. He waits 20 years to get his revenge, and pulls off a revolution against an authoritarian government.

And finally, Eve, from the WALL-E movie. Simpy because of her tough, no nonsense attitude, and the excellent concept of love she shows.

There have been characters and people that I thought were cool, but I've never actually had a hero before. I just watched a documentary about Gorilla murders in the Republic of Congo and it showed what these men do. These are rangers of the Congolese Wildlife Authority. They are dedicated to protecting the area and one major problem has been Gorilla poachers. In the past 110 rangers have died and probably more since the documentary. They also work hard to try and stop the production and movement of illegal charcoal which is made from the destroying of the forest. At first I thought that they thought protecting the are and its wildlife was just a job, but no. These people actually care for what they fight for. Gorillas are family to them. After seeing what they do I have so much more respect for them. i bet none of you will actually read this

this is Paulin Ngobobo. he was head of operations in trying to stop illegal charcoal trades when he was falsly accused of being an insider for the charcoal and was held responsible for the murder of 6 Gorillas. He was eventually released and after hiding for 8 months, he gave evidence to convict 6 rangers who were traitors as well as evidence to convict Honore Mashagiro for the one who planned everything. He has returned to work towards stopping the the illegal charcoal trade.
