Post Avatar Vibe Coming Back, Anyone Else?

It's been almost a year since I first saw Avatar, the weather is getting cold again, and those underlying feelings I had after watching Avatar are coming back. Not PAD or PAE specifically, but just a general underlying...vibe. It's hard to describe, really. A sort of...titulation, I guess one could say. A feeling of having one's head in the clouds, yet at the same time a feeling of enlightenment, of discovery. Of sort of living in a dream world, that dream world. Like I said, it's hard to describe. It's a unique feeling like none I've ever felt before Avatar. I'm sure you guys know something similar, though. Feels good, man.:P

So, is it coming back for anyone else?:)

Eltu 12-11-2010 10:58 AM

Yup, I feel exactly the same (and that is precisely why I don't want to watch the actual movie again) - no feelings that can be defined, just... felt.

I know exactly what you mean.

KalaKuival 12-11-2010 11:14 AM

Oh yeah, same here! And to me it is also because of the cold. I remember that the day I first saw Avatar was also the day when it was heavily snowing, and it's a snow storm here now.
Though the feeling is not that strong as I would like it to be. However there's still some time left:P

:)

Absolutely same here!

Combined with that Avatar Extended is playing in the Imax Theater here (we were the only Imax in North America not to have 3D theater, but now we do, and they are showing Avatar still January).

So for me, one year later, exactly, (I had first seen it on the opening release of December 18th) I get to go 'See' all over again, and because this year has been such a journey of transformation and transcendence, its like all of those feelings, are just heightened right now. I've making the whole day a celebration! I wouldn't say its PAE but I am feeling euphoric!

Hunter of the Glade 12-11-2010 05:40 PM

I'll feel this way in April ;)

Human No More 12-11-2010 09:29 PM

Yes.
I watched Avatar a few days ago, and right now, I'm just overcome. I'm so lonely, so deeply in love, and more than anything, I just want to go home... :'(

Layzie 12-12-2010 12:12 AM

It never really went away for me. Just eventually learned how to deal with it a little bit better.

SaphirJD 12-12-2010 01:40 AM

Yeah.. at this time of the year the vibes are becoming very strong, feels same way sad as also hopeful... its really about time that i watch the special edition :)

Earthlover18 12-12-2010 02:36 AM

I can also feel what you are talking about Tsyal. I remember how I felt after seeing it. The world was so cold, lifeless, and most plants were dead so there wasn't much foilage (I saw it in near the end of January). That made it especially bad because of how beautiful the bioluminesence on Pandora was. There was nothing that resembeled it anywhere. Just pavement. :(

I can't wait to see the collectors edition content when I come home for Christmas break, hopefully it will rekindle the flame even more. :P

Human No More 12-12-2010 04:10 AM

It never really went away for me either, just a figure of speech agreeing...

Good to know that it's still with us though :)

Txum_kali'weya 12-12-2010 04:55 AM

Yup.
Definately something of that sort coming back...

tallbluewanderer 12-12-2010 06:17 AM

It's starting to come back for me as well. It's a welcome change -- I've missed feeling like this...

Fosus 12-12-2010 01:27 PM

Oh Eywa you are all getting it back too? SO nice to know! I've definitely had it for a week or two now. I sound like a dumb when I try to describe it.. but you described it very well, Tsyal Makto. :) ..Did I mention I love every one of you?

Human No More 12-12-2010 01:31 PM

Great to hear, Txum, tallbluewanderer and Fosus :D

True, absolutely true ! :) Before walking in the IMAX Theatre it was very cold, the sky was silver and the atmosphere for me was like my first steps on the ground, it was... a humongous feeling ! After the AVATAR, I walked outside and it was snowing really-really heavy, and it was a little snow on the ground, and it felt for me like I'm taking the first steps in it, GRRREAT ! :)

And now, the season started to be for real, few days ago I was remembering and imagining that a month later, a year ago, I was watching AVATAR and changing my life completely along with this unforgettable experience.

Ìrayo, Sir. James Cameron !

Thorinair 12-12-2010 10:57 PM

Ohhh yes.
I can definitely feel it coming back as well, and it is not like PAD or anything... More like a will to create something... Something Avatar related I had in mind for a while now...
It is also combined with that special love for the bioluminescence I felt sooo long ago.

Txum_kali'weya 12-13-2010 12:28 AM

I still miss the initial rise of these "vibes"...

Marley 12-14-2010 09:14 AM

I definitely have the feeling back.... I actually believe it's nearly as bad as when I first watched it, I've experienced lonely feelings in all ways since watching the CE, but not just just depression however... On different days I'll feel uplifted and wanting to get out into the world and get know people across the globe..... Maybe climb mountains and all kinds of stuff.... Maybe one day eh?

Most of it seems to be depression though, but surprisingly enough to me it ISN'T for Pandora.... Something inside me just yells "This planet can still be YOUR Pandora Kyle, if you allow it to be." I've looked at pictures on Google of places in very tropical countries and they make me believe this planet still could be the safe haven we're all longing and looking for.

What the depression IS for, is that special someone of the opposite gender, someone maybe I could go through most of my life with, through lots of experiences, downs and ups.
Somebody who would always be there for me and vice versa, somebody who would do anything to be with me and also vice versa...
But most importantly, someone who understands me, and understands why I think and act like I do, to sum it up everybody.... I need a soul mate. :(

Helicoradian 12-14-2010 10:09 AM

It's always been there a little bit for me. But to be honest, i wish the vibe was much stronger :( It's a feeling like no other...

I hope this changes

Human No More 12-14-2010 05:14 PM

Marley, oel ngati kameie... The loneliness is one of the worst parts for me... while I still want to go home, I know that I can't and likely will always be stuck on Earth... but being so lonely... nobody was meant to :(

Yeah, same for me.

Hunter of the Glade 12-15-2010 01:40 AM

Marley I have to agree with you completely. Well-said, tsmukan.
I'm fine with this world, and I feel like I can allow it to be my Pandora.

But my Pandora just wouldn't be a Pandora without a Neytiri. Lonliness...I've felt it too.

Getting depressed over the world of Pandora not being in existence is a small percentage of my PAD. IT'S MAINLY NEYTIRI AND JAKE. Their love. The love story aspect of Avatar. It makes me see an ideal relationship...one that I want 110%...but unfortunately at the moment do not have. :'(

X.,.Pandora.,.X 12-15-2010 01:46 AM

It's all coming back for me, especially after just watching Avatar and the Irayo video, I'm tearing up right now

Well said ma tsmukan. I still (and always will) consider Pandora home, but Earth makes a pretty damn fine "home away from home" too. Pandora, the world, is definitely a part of PAD, no doubt about that, but the love that Jake and Neytiri have is a bigger part of it, as well. Their undying love, two against the world, I want that so much.:'( The only human who really compares to Neytiri is Alyx Vance from HL2, and she's just as unreachable as Neytiri is in this life. I want a warrior.:(

The third big part of it too is really what human society has become, and what our lives have become. The consumerism, the hierarchy, the greed, the lack of tribe-like community. Earth, can be Pandora in nature, but what human society has become...that's not my clan. Hence why I'm a neo-tribalist.

While I never really experienced PAD or PAE, this time of year has me thinking of Avatar. After watching CE a few days ago, I was once again overwhelmed by the message, the characters and the beauty of it all. If it were possible to go to Pandora, and I had the opportunity, I would drop everything and go in a heartbeat. I truely understand how you all feel, and I can relate.

HNM, I feel your yearning.. and desire to go "home". :(

Don't get me wrong people, I love Pandora... And I long to have a worthy dream of it still even today... But I believe there's so much that THIS world can offer which is kinda similar to Pandora, wildlife, love, fitness, and just friendliness... I think the love and friendliness have been showed here on ToS, ToS Skype channels and other places to do with here pretty often!

The loneliness part for me comes when I realise that you lot all don't live in my society, or anywhere remotely close to me..... And then there's the longing for a soul mate which is an instant send into depression when I think about it. :/

EywaBlessMe 12-16-2010 04:05 AM

I never suffered from PAD until after I saw the s.e. No, really, I loved avatar so much the first viewing I was totally jazzed to see it the next night. Which I did. And again 3 days later. But something about the s.e. left cold and lonely. If it was PAD, then it it me pretty hard, and I don't want that anymore. I wonder if it has something to do with the added scenes. Seeing a semi-BladeRunner earth for Jake was depressing. And while the Na'vis attack scenes helped round out Quaritch, the stuff about Neytiri's sister was unnecessary, and I simply hated the whole death-of-Tsutey scene.

Human No More 12-16-2010 07:14 PM

Perhaps there is still some in this world... but there's so much that is missing, and I still have nobody to love in my life :'(

Taronyu Eywa 12-16-2010 11:33 PM

It never really left to be honest, but its certainly feeling a little stronger now. I like.

EywaBlessMe 12-16-2010 11:49 PM

We need to start a 'Fans of Avatar, but desperate and dateless' thread...

Human No More 12-17-2010 06:06 PM

I really wish we had enough people to... but sadly, there is nobody here near me :(
Also, most people are male :(
