I turn 1 today.
It has been one very long year since the birth of "Txum_Kali'weya".
Mentally born on the 23rd of December, 2009. Digitally born on January 12, 2010.

at first, i was alone. looking through the world for someone else who felt like i did.then one day when i googled Avatar, i found a website based on it. the people there seemed to have been affected by Avatar the same way i had.
so I joined.
and it was good.i was there for a long time. but then, it was taken over by someone who didn't seem to have the same experience as the rest of us. but still I stayed.so a few members of the community left to make their own site.people left to join the new site.
eventually, i left too. but the new site was better.
and so i joined. and i loved it.
it was there for me always. and if it was not, i would no be here.

so i thank that site, its creators, and its community.

We had good and we had bad Times, and i am also so glad to be here :)

People speak mostly about bad change. Perhaps it was just a natural process to remove all what was wrong so we are now able to reach a better tomorrow :)

I've had major highs, and major lows during this crazy year, but it was worth it. I turned 1 as well December 18th, 2010

Heres to more birthday celebrations to come!

ZitaX 12-24-2010 11:35 PM

I recently turned 1 as well! :)

I suffered some personal tragedies this year, so im glad that i have atleast been able to escape to the beautiful world of Pandora now and then when i've been low.

Thank you all for making ToS what it is.

I still have nearly two weeks until I turn 1, but I can say that I am so happy, the last year has been the best of my life, full of both highs and lows and has truly let me understand who I really was and meet some amazing people.

It's been a year and I barely remember my old life.

Yeah same here. For me it was 22nd December I became '1 year old', but it wasn't until 17th January that I officially landed on AF. It was so great to be in a community where we all shared this indescribable connection. Deep heartfelt Avatar discussions about everything.

Although I never got wind of the upheaval that happen (probably because I was still on Pandora!) it was a good chappy called 'Madman' who made me aware of ToS as I was just starting out on the film project and looking for people to take part. All of a sudden I was seeing familiar people and ToS was a home from home filled with all that potent mix I had found at the start of the year.

I have come a long way from where I was just over a year ago and that is all thanks to the friendship I have found on AF and here. Irayo to you all and especially the admin team for keeping this place just how we like it.

Eywa ngahu

Me, I've got a few months (until 6 March, specifically -- as usual, I was behind the times), but I have to say the same. Amazing highs, unbearable lows, and perhaps more of the latter than the former lately, but nonetheless ... the word "lifechanging" comes to mind.

Human No More 12-27-2010 12:30 PM

Lifechanging is exactly right. Without Avatar, I'd never have woken up and I have been goad I have every single day, even in the middle of the low points :)

More "lifeshattering" then "lifechanging" for me...
Still getting hurt by the splinters of the past... :(

And thank you everybody.

Today is it for me. Exactly one year since I first saw the movie. I figured it'd be entertaining enough and a nice way to spend my evening, nothing more. A few hours later I found myself stumbling in a daze out of the theater into the popcorn-scented lobby, then wanting to say something to the massive line of people waiting outside for the next screening as I walked to my car. When I got to my car I climbed in the driver's seat, put the keys in the ignition, and just sat there for a minute thinking "Wow; that just happened."

A few days later I came upon a little site called avatar-forums.com and the rest, as they say, is history! :)
