Err...duno Must admit I haven't been keeping up with the T-Shirts thread - my bad..

As for PNW..could it be Pacific North West..area...maybe:rolleyes: Sound like near Seattle to me!:)

Aketuan 04-06-2011 10:12 PM

About the shirts...well, I'll pm Payoang tonight I guess.

and PNW is Pacific North-West. :)

AND, the newsletter is out! With info that Alan researched about possible itineraries. I would almost suggest we create a new topic for discussing them...

I have started a new thread with the info on the fact sheets covered in the newsletter:
http://www.tree-of-souls.com/meetups...tml#post138380

I've also posted on the Avatar Discussion section too. This is just to make people aware of what is happening and point them in the direction of this thread and also the Seattle info. (http://www.tree-of-souls.com/general...tml#post138390)

I've also posted on AF too. Is anyone able to post the info on Na'viBlue and Avatar Prime at all. I can email the wordy stuff to them to save them sorting out the links and stuff...providing those two forums accept the same forum codes.

Oh and just one other thing...

Thinking about our clan meal and how to get there. Whilst I was doing the research I came across a taxi firm who also do mini-buses too! Here's a link to their website:
Shuttle Express

I might be ideal for us rather than getting all separate taxis and arriving at different times. What do folks think?

Kiyevame..for the moment...

Alan

Hi Alan ~ you are an absolutely extraordinary organizer ... WoW! Your idea of a group shuttle to dinner (and possibly other adventures) is perfect

Yeah, if we could get that worked out it would be awesome. :)

So what does everyone think about the itineraries? Which ones does everyone want to do the most and which days or do people just want to do other things?

I know that I want to do the Aquarium/Pike Place the most out of all of them...but really I wouldn't mind trying to fit them all in... :P

Aww shucks! :shy: Your too kind, really. I just didn't want us to get there and spend half a day deciding what to do and missing time enjoying an adventrue together. So I thought this was a way I could contribute. It also helped me get aquainted with Seattle a bit. As I say though, they are only suggestions and anyone can do as they wish.

Hope the shuttle bus works out well, not sure of the cost compared to a load of taxis, but I would have thought it would be cheaper as it is only one driver. We can all sing #The wheels on the bus go round and round# too...:xD::xD: Or annoy the driver and keep asking "Are we there yet?"... or maybe not..

Hey, if we want to do another clan meal whilst we are there the LearnNa'vi lot have found another place like the Palisade called Six Seven...err coz it's on pier 67 on the waterfront:
Restaurants in Seattle, WA - Downtown Seattle waterfront dining at Six Seven Restaurant

Can't wait for our clan meal at the Palisade, though. Being able to watch the sun set whilst we enjoy out meal together....

Yeah, I'd like to look round Pike Place too. Looks a right treasure trove of activity and it's just across the road from the Aquarium. With the city pass there is also the opportunity for a harbour cruse too.

Pike Place is a treasure trove of cute little shops to poke around in ... and the fish market itself will make you salivate down the front of your Avatar shirt. :P I would love to do the harbor cruise ... I missed that before ... and they have huge ferries that take you across Puget Sound to a really neat little island of artsy craftsy people. ... the ferry was a GREAT experience. They also have a system of locks that was absolutely fascinating to watch as boats(large and small) are lifted/lowered from one level of water to the next ... but that was a distance from the waterfront area where we will be. The Pacific Science Center is a must see ... that is also where the IMAX theater is if I remember correctly. The restaurant sounds very elegant ... I'm getting hungry! :xD:

Alan,
Great idea to have a shuttle bus take us all to our clan meal at the Palisade!
And if someone else hasn't already done so, I can post your "Update" message at the Naviblue and AvatarPrime forums.

As for which itineraries I like the best: the Pike Place/Aquarium, and the Woodland Park Zoo. :)

Fiyerwall 04-09-2011 02:37 AM

I am leaning toward the first itinerary with the Aqaurium and Pike Place. I also like the idea of a shuttle for the Palisade dinner.

Speaking of which, should I call them back and ask them to reduce the number of people for the reservation? I told them 20, but right now it doesn't look like it'll be that many.

Um, well it looks like we might hit 20, but it is unlikely so...I don't know. I would hold off for a little while at least...

And I know this was requested so...

Kaltxi Fiyerwall, I guess the thing is to find out when the Palisade Restaurant need to know the final numbers by and then make that the cut off date. We already kinda have a cut off date for 2nd May as that how long our discount at the Hotel lasts for...providing we fill the ten rooms... Need to get more to go me thinks!

I've just been doing a bit of research into the shuttle-mini-bus-type-thing and if there are upto ten of us then it comes to a total of $115 each way. So $11.50 each way.

If we exceed that number then the next size up (25 seater mini-bus) comes in at $230 each way. Ok,...not sure if that is expensive, but it seems a bit teensy-weensy bit high for a three mile ride at $23-ish each way, Anyway I've emailed two taxi firms to find out there prices. Generally it is $2:50 initially followed by $2:50 per mile with $0.50 for extras over two...or something :S So that might work out at $10 each...each way.

There are three buses to choose from :19, 23 and 33 that go that way which would be $2:50 each way, but the bus stops are not exactly in the right place! Maybe a ten minute walk at each end?

try to speak to the prof who is at the last exam so that you can take it before all the rest? I did it a couple of times, it worked :) Just make big round sincere eyes, talk from your heart & convince him/ her that it's a death/life matter!

(on one particular occasion, the dean moved the finals of the whole faculty two weeks ahead cos I was dying to go to Bulgaria :) I said that I were participating in the international project "Children for Peace" (true) & that it would collapse without my presence (lie - but only this part :) ) Everybody was crossing & swearing, me - dancing a jig (but I prudently shut up that it was my doing :) )

Kaltxi CyanRachel,

Sorry for not responding quickly. Stuff has been happening! Hopefully you have seen my reply regarding the shuttle buss idea. It seems it will be about $10-$15 each way depending on whether we use a taxi or a shuttle bus. I might try and investigate a bit more...

I'm not sure if anyone else have posted on Na'viBlue or Avatar Prime. If not I would be most grateful if you could for us. Much appreciated ma tsmuke.

Yeah, I think Pike Place and the aquarium are certainly places to go. I would mind going to the zoo as well. I think that would make a great day out. Think the last time I went to a zoo was when I was 6!!! :xD:
