That's truly great news to hear. However, I hope that all those trees are allowed to grow to maturity. Don't want to sound overly paranoid here, I just hope the re-forested areas don't get de-forested again when no one's looking. :S

Me too! This is wonderful news! I "adopted" a tree in the Hometree Initiative, so it's great to hear of its success. :party:

I was actually surprised to hear, but apparently quite a few of the places trees have been planted are in city areas, so there will be protection there at least :)

Hmm that's nice, shows it wasn't just empty promises lol, but anyway... how big is a wood made of 1,000,000 trees? Anyone know?

It varies a lot, from maybe a couple of hundred for a small one to thousands for a large one. Some of the trees planted were in cities though, as well as to replace trees that had been cut down in forest areas.
