Finally Finished My First Song!
So after starting this song about a week and a half to two weeks ago, then setting it aside for a bit, then picked back up on it this is the first song I ever finished and want to release... the problem... i dont have proper studio monitors, so I want to get some, or borrow some, before actually saying this song is "finished" in other words, it still needs to be properly mixed and mastered, but it doesnt sound absolutely terrible without the mastering. I was aiming for a dark atmospheric dubstep song, but like said without proper speakers, didnt quite get the bassline I was shooting for, although listening to it in my car I was quite pleased with the result, although sort of sounds like downtempo... I was planning on doing another release with some more mastering and a deeper harder bassline, for more of a dubstep feel...
Anyways enough rambling, listen to the song and let me know what you think! I welcome constructive critisism =) Chosen As The First - Via Soundcloud |
Bad ass :D
I think it would be more epic if it has come kind of climax where all hell just breaks loose and you wanna rock out. |
That was really cool Stanley, glad I got to listen to it. Been eagerly awaiting it :)
It was pure awesomeness :D |

Awsome song!
Well done Stan. |
You create amazing suspense in the beginning. The slow build up and the transitions from different beats give the song some flavor. You did a good job at creating the theme of the song. However the beat sounds rather 'open' like a score, which isn't a bad thing. I get the feeling that you were being very careful with the melodies coming together with the main theme of the song, mad respect. This kind of music reminds me of EVE Online music, kind of like this:
Your song would be excellent when played in space games, it captures the atmosphere well. Overall, I love it Stan. Awesome job, well done. Can't wait to hear your future tunes. :D For some extra critique, may I offer a suggestion. Listen to this score if you don't really get what I mean when I say 'open'. Very, very beautiful song. When I hear an open song, I see the space that can be filled in some pockets of the song. You have a theme but simple rhythms; complicated rhythms and beats, that respect the theme/main rhythm of the song, can really make a song better than it really is. Or you could do exactly the opposite. Or something entirely different! You could have no rhythms or beats within the song and just have a single, catchy riff of music like in this song. <3 that song, now back to the point! You might have a different style or you want to do something entirely new, either way, Id like to hear more of your stuff and see how you've improved. |
Thanks for the reviews everyone! <3

Something simplistic, but made you feel thanks again! Definitely gave me something to think about |
What program did you use? My friend makes dubstep. But he makes the filthy kind. Uses stuff like Fruity Loops.

I go through different phases, so I'll be the artist that makes music in different genres... I've got a trance one I really really love thats put aside at the moment (cuz I'm in a dubstep phase) plus I'm stuck on the song hehe |
He uses the same plug ins. He has trouble getting a good 'wub wub' sound.
