You should do an animation where she waves to us :awesome:

Yeah i have been thinking about something that seems a bit like its interacting with the viewer (cant make something really interactive ofc that would require programming etc). Havent worked it out yet. Oh well first back to the dance animation, lots todo still :)

no new updates in a while.....what's going on >_>

Raiden 06-10-2011 07:32 AM

Interesting.

Japan is using pseudo-hologram tech for jpop performances now, so Neytiri holograms could probably be done fairly easily.

Yawn... i'm awake, i'm awake... just a little sleepy :)

Been so busy a while ago, had to invest some time in to other matters aswell.
Anyway I hope i can show something new soon!

@Raiden, wow that looks cool!
I only looked into it briefly, it seems they project on big glass sheets?
Guess its the combined technology behind it that really makes it awesome, especially since its all happening real time.
Bet we will see more like that in the future, imagine Neytiri and Jake arrive at the next Oscars themselves :P

new pic :D thanks for an update, i was worried this had come to a halt. i still think this would be an awesome mod for the PC Avatar game :D

prowler 06-13-2011 01:01 PM

Yay :D She looks tired.. :awesome:

fierox 06-13-2011 01:15 PM

@Tm20 i'm not aware of any existing Avatar mod?
Its not too hard to change, prep and downgrade this model for a game.
But all the ingame animations would have to be made and the model and animations would have to be changed into something the game understands and can handle.
I'm not aware of any tooling available for the Avatar game to do this, last time i checked the game seemed pretty dead.. :(

Naww pretty please! I swear I'd re install the game just to have a new character mod or something like that. Though it means a hell of a lot of work for you though, like climbing animations, firing a bow ect.

fierox 06-20-2011 03:26 AM

Well if it was only the work of adjusting the model and making all the animations it would be a fun project. But i dont think there is any tooling that would let me export my Ney model as a playable character into the game.
A programmer would have to build a exporter/importer and maybe more, i dont know all the technical stuff.
I joined a few game mods earlier, never seen one finished so wasted a good amount of time on that :(

So sorry its not easy and i only know the 3D part :)

:S Naww I see your point. It would be pretty frustrating not finding tools for the Avatar game.

tm20 06-20-2011 08:52 AM

hahahha another cool pic :D
