A bit too sassy for my taste, but still nice ^^
|
The pose was based on a Zoe Saldana picture (I dont think there much resemblance tho I really kept images of her out when i made the neytiri model) but it was a nice idea.
Anyway after multiple crashes today i gave up on it for now and decided to do just a image of Ney and Jake instead. Had this one in my mind a while ago, hope you like it :) http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/f/20...ox-d5499jb.jpg |
Well done, as usual. :)
Once again, Jake is the luckiest SoB in the universe. :love2: |
Another great work. :)
|
Jake is so lucky :)
Also, nice lighting effects. |

Hey all, was a requested to do a certain pose a while ago.
Hope you like it! http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...ox-d5a22u3.jpg |
:D
Amazing... the markings are done really well :) |
O_O the shadows on that one looks really good. there probably is no difference but it looks better than the others. if you had a 3D printer you would be making a fortune :D

Wow sharp eyes you have, the render quality is set a little higher here! was experimenting a little.. And yes i would like to get Neytiri and Jake printed at some point, with some adjustments im pretty sure its possible. After the animation tho, give 3D printing some more time to get cheaper :P |
Just for fun, Neytiri hearing our alien music for the first time :)
Wondering what song she's hearing.. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/20...ox-d5eqjbq.jpg |
Superb.:awesome:
|
Love it! :)

hey all,
A new render of Neytiri in a requested pose, hope you like it! My workstation broke down so i had to do this on a laptop, quite a struggle but fun :) Since my latest animation files are still on the workstation i have to wait untill all the replacement parts are in, dont want to start all over on my current animation scene. Gave me some time to tweak some shaders a bit more and increased the length of her hair a little bit. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/20...ox-d5m1ujg.jpg |
*nosebleed*
|
I'd hit it.

Well my Hot Toys Jake Sully figure will arrive soon and he really needs some company (finally got one cheap, yay)! Although the sculpted Neytiri models are beautiful i want them to have a good amount of articulation and be able to pose them every now and then. So i'm going to try and turn my Neytiri model into a real sixth scale figure to accompany him. In this mockup she's about 44 cm high and i hope to be able to 3D print her piece by piece and then build the parts together and even have it painted and add hair etc if all works out. I've read the material's properties and printing demands but i'm sure it wont just work in one go. Sofar its made according to specs i think (minimum thickness of 0.7mm). And if its too hard, well, i can always edit and reprint or even glue it all together. The final building of all the parts will be when my sample material arrives so i can adjust for flexibility, thickness, etc (for the joints). So anyway, a fun little side project and i can't wait to finally have something 3D printed! PS the leg top is missing and some other probs, thats just because of the quick render and i looked over it. |

Well the model is as good as ready, just need to finalise it and increase the smoothness. Suggestions or critique i'd love to hear, otherwise she's off for approval at shapeways! Fingers crossed i didnt miss anything (like an edge being to thin <0.7mm) and all the parts get through :D Is she gets approved, the printing takes 2 or 3 weeks, will keep you updated! |
Well before printing the entire figure i decided to print just the joints first.
They arrived last week and already worked pretty well. I've been making small adjustments on the joints and figure based on the results. Hopefully things got even better. Here's a quick picture of the joints: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-U...-no/joints.jpg Uploaded the entire figure to shapeways and ordered the print! Hopefully everything checks out, if so then the figure should be here in 2/3 weeks. Shapeways link for those interested: 1/6th scale figure by fierox on Shapeways |
1/6 real size :D
|
Well today all the parts of my prototype Neytiri figure arrived, exciting!
My camera had some trouble in the evening light but here are a few pictures :) Not all joints are prefect yet (some are a bit too loose) but for a first try im pretty happy! http://th04.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/...ox-d6jam43.jpg http://th00.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/...ox-d6jamub.jpg http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...ox-d6jamyd.jpg |
I want one, hrh *__* So awesome.
|
Hey thx!
Right now i'm working on a updated version, fixing some problems and with different faces and hands. If its possible i'll make the print available. Not sure thats possible tho or it might be too expensive for me to realise. http://th06.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/...ox-d6jlo2m.jpg |
Update on the figure i'm working on :)
The new printed parts just arrived and i'm really happy with the result. These parts are printed from the figure in the previous post. The level of detail on the printed parts are actually a little higher (and smoother aswell) then on the last time. The faces are printed in a different material, thats because they are printed in a higher detail. The material is translucent so its very hard to see the detail in the pictures below, they really dont show it. But all the lines, wrinkles in the face and ears are still there. Same for all of the teeth. Especially on the angry face with the open mouth and all the wrinkles, it looks great! Testfitted a face to the back of the head. The fit seems firm and the glass eyes really look nice. Face isnt really pressed into the socket yet so there's a small gap. Just dont want to take any chances with the parts. Have to make molds first before i try anything :) all the printed parts, hair and eyes: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-A...131212_003.jpg Neutral face: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-U...131212_006.jpg Happy face: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-K...131212_007.jpg Angry face: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-v...131212_008.jpg Head assembled with glass eyes: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-A...131212_010.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-T...131212_011.jpg Ill start with molding this weekend, exciting! |
Firefox, that's very impressive. Once you've got it finished any chance we can get James Cameron to officially produce it?
|
Thanks!
I'm looking at ways to finish and produce it in a low volume (its more expensive then i thought). If Cameron wants to take over and officially produce it, well that would be awesome! Dont think that will happen tho :) Here's a better image of the angry face http://th06.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/...ox-d6y0yto.jpg |
That's incredibly detailed. :)
|
Took a bit longer then expected but now with some updated parts the prototype of the figure is (finally) almost completed.
The figure now pretty much works, it can stand and be posed, faces and hands can be switched, eyes can be moved around a bit. Might try and print one or two more tweaks but the way the figure is now is pretty much it. Really cant wait to have a figure painted and show it with added hair and outfit! And perhaps more good news for some, if there is enough interest (over a minimum of 30 pieces) the figure can actually be produced! but more on that later. made a quick photo, will add some more when i added the base blue to all the parts. (the face is made of transparent material so not good to see) http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...ox-d73fwlt.jpg |
After i colored all the new bits blue today i made a few pictures in some quick poses.
Unfortunatly i cant die the transparent faces blue but it gives an idea what the figure looks like now :) A few more tweaks and then i can have it painted. http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/f/20...ox-d73joss.jpg http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...ox-d73josk.jpg http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/f/20...ox-d73jos8.jpg http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/f/20...ox-d73josc.jpg |
Nice :D
Planning to do one of the Jake model too? |
