Wow. I'm speechless. You do a very great job. 'Cause I found this thread such a few minutes ago, I only see the first 5 pages, until now. But that's enough, to be very inspired.

Also, I'm really interested in 3D modeling and just started to work with maya and other software like this, by reason that I want to study 3D-Animation. But I'm just at the beginning.
One of my ambitions is to create such a perfect Na'vi like you :)

@ La'rityen, i have been messing about with Maya for quite a while, certainly several years.
The very basics i learned at school, from there it was mostly experimenting and learning from others and the net. And i still have lots to learn :P
Doesnt take that long to build something nice tho, just have to take it a step at a time and keep enjoying it!

@ la'rityen, you were right about the teeth, i had noticed that too but didnt do another render after adjusting it, you have sharp eyes ;)

(added blinking and started with more facial shapes but its not completely done yet as you might see).

EDIT: Have you tried doing two shots with slightly offset camera for 3D (stereoscopic image pair)? That would be soooo cooool!

I think it would look better if she would have her cloths and necklaces on, feel kinda wrong/weird to see her all naked like that... imo... :rolleyes:

The Na'vi are so beautiful in many ways, partly because they are not ashamed of themselves :)

It's saddening that we always see naked bodies as something entirely sexual nowadays - really, it can be so much more. And this is the perfect example. In this model, Neytiri's beauty is what comes through the most - not her sexual properties. ;)

She has clothes, but this is a work in progress thread and i'm not ready yet :)
Clothes are finished in the static (stand still) version it just makes the most sense to first rig and finish the character and then add the clothes.
In a way the clothes and the rest of her outfit are like real cloth and stuff, they can be added, removed or changed for a different outfit later on.
Guess its a compliment you see it like that, in that its "real" enough to think about nudity that way :P

@ Aaron, yes i'm definatly going to try that with animations, i dont think it should be too hard.
