Who's Going to Watch the Academy Awards?

I'm not!

I am over what they did last year to Avatar. I don't really care too much about it not winning. Still, the Oscars have lost my respect because of it, and I will not be watching this year. I may change my mind next year, but this year I'm staying far away from the television. I'll find out the results online.

^That is my resolution. I don't know what anyone else's is, and I don't mind if others watch. That's why there's this poll. Once the Oscars have been given out, I'll post the results here.

So who's gonna watch? Who's not gonna watch?

Well, Inception...

That's the only regret I have for not watching the Oscars, is seeing what awards Inception will win. Of course, they totally snubbed Nolan AGAIN for director, and I cannot believe they didn't nominate DiCaprio..

yea pretty much why I'm not going to watch it... Avatar deserved so many more rewards (who remembers hurt locker) and yea like said i'll find out the results online... i remember eating spaghetti last year watching Oscars during the final suspense of who will win best picture super confident it was going to be Avatar... and not because it was in the runnings against Avatar, but people were all (who had seen it) OMG HL so good! and I saw it and i honestly almost fell asleep. The character development was terrible (I couldnt care less if the guy died) and was just there. Avatar had so much groundbreaking things attached; visuals, gross revenue, PAD, and of course us haha but yea my friend was rooting for HL, and it said HL and I nearly dropped my bowl of spaghetti and my friend was screaming in my face, "TOLD YOU TOLD YOU"

yea that was annoying

all in all... no

THIS THIS THIS another reason... Nolan should've been in the runnings at least. C'mon seriously?

I'm not. Not only do I have no respect for them, but there aren't even any films I really like that have been nominated. The Social Network was OK, but really doesn't deserve one, and Toy Story 3, again, a good film, but I am certainly not going to watch for it, and it's only really distinctive (other than the emotional impact since so many people grew up with the original) in being the second best film of 2010, which really isn't saying much.
EDIT: How To Train Your Dragon is nominated for 'best animated' apparently, so fair enough on that one - it should be there for 'Best Picture' though as it was the only really good film of 2010.

It's rigged to begin with. A golden trophy will bump up acting performances. It's clear certain elements of hollywood want to maintain some special interest.

Helicoradian 02-21-2011 12:38 AM

I'm not going to watch it this year. Most of the movies nominated are ok, but I really just don't care.

I'll check out the results when it's over, but that's it.

LMAO! Well the "true people" have spoken according to the poll. HAHA as I have stated before, I WILL NOT watch that program again! If and when the Academy pull their heads out of their ASSES, pardon my language, I will never watch it again after what they did to AVATAR! And for all the actors, producers who made rude cracks at JC and AVATAR during the award show last year just goes to show what kind of operation it truly is! LONG LIVE AVATAR and again, where is the HURT LOCKER now? OH yeah, thats right in the DVD bargain bin at WALMART!! :xD: LOL

Voted no. I don't really care much for awards ceremonies, and I don't need them to validate or invalidate my taste in movies, music, or what have you. I like what I like. Y'know what, I can't even think off the top of my head who or what has been nominated for which award this year. Sure, I guess it would have been cool if Avatar had won 'Best Picture' last year, but it didn't bother me much.

Grif 02-21-2011 03:49 AM

LOL no.

Fighter-of-Wars 02-21-2011 04:05 AM

Never watched it, prolly never will watch it. Voted no.

Aketuan 02-21-2011 05:11 AM

Never have watched it. Never will watch it (the Avatar thing made me a little upset)

James Horner should have won the best soundtrack too....

Woodsprite 02-21-2011 06:01 AM

As much as Avatar was not Horner's best, I have to admit it was a better score than the other nominees.
