For people that are knowledgeable about cars

In a race who would win between a 1969 GTO "Judge" or a 2005 infinity G35

GTO specs:
Engine: 400ci/370hp Ram Air IV V8
Torque: 445 lb-ft @ 3900 rpm
Weight: 3081 lbs | 1397.518 kg

G35:
Engine: 3.5L 280 hp V6
Torque: 270 lb-ft @ 4800 RPM
Weight: 3,512 lbs

The reason Im asking this is a really long story, please only post if you know what your talking about.

Obviously it depends on what race (drag, autocross), and the environment and driver, but in this case I'll have to say the GTO, because of power (370 V8 445 ft. lbs. compared to 280 V6 270 ft. lbs) and weight (3081 compared to 3,512)

The G35 is heavier and underpowered compared to the GTO

Well. Ill be getting my dream car sometime at the end of this year. The 69 goat. But my friend Cellion insists that his friends 2005 infiniti g35 is faster. He just doesn't understand classics. Whenever I try to show him he blatantly refuses to listen and goes on and on about it. Now all he does is brag about his friends car. Which is rather ironic because he has a pretty nice honda himself. Thats the just of the story. The rest is irrelevant.

Hehe show him up then... just be careful haha looking back a lot of the races I did were pretty stupid... racing a little ricer hatchback civic with my dads mustang gt (i was just out for a little drive i wasn't planning on racing but he was pissing me off) ended up driving down a 35 zone at 100+... then with my car during lunch break at my automotive school raced a few times down a street which was stupid for getting caught not as much crashing... the street was lined with entrances to a Khumo tires factory (our school was right next to the factory) plus automotive school... cops will write UTI (my school) students fat tickets for racing... I cant even remember how many times I raced or was passenger to a friend who was racing and never got caught. Pushed my luck sometimes but nothings bad happened hehe pics when you get the car I'd love to see it!

I'm hoping to get the original carousel red color with the original "judge" on the spoiler and fender. Only 5000 or so were made so its hard to come by an original. I will definitely be posting pictures though.

For the GTO we have a Power-to-weight ratio of 330.44/3081 [hp/lb] = 0.11 hp per pound
For the G35: 246.76/3512 [hp/lb] = 0.070 hp per pound.
Comparing both values, the GTO is 57% more powerful than the G35. It also has a peak torque at lower RPMs than the G35 and that's a good thing because you will be able to deliver power in low gears without grinding the gearbox.

Well I have decided on the 1969 dodge charger R/T. Can anyone tell me how this car would compare to a 2008 Honda accord coupe v6. (Another long story)

Charger specs:
Wheelbase, inches: 117.0
Weight, lbs: 4,300
Engine Type: ohv V-8
Displacement, cid: 426
Fuel system: 2 x 4bbl.
Compression ratio: 10.25:1
Horsepower @ rpm: 425 @ 5000
Torque @ rpm: 490 @ 4000
Rear Wheel drive

Honda specs:
Engine
Type: V6
Displacement cu in (cc): 212 (3471)
Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 268(200) / 6200
Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 248(336) / 5000
Redline at RPM: 6800
Weight lb (kg): 3446 (1564)
Front wheel drive

You once again dominate in the horsepower and ft. lbs department... he has a higher RPM range than you do (Honda= Hold On Not Done Accelerating hehe) but he is 1,000 kg lighter than you... he also is a front wheel drive whereas you're a rear wheel, you'll get more traction off the line than he will (depends on how hard he punches the throttle but he'll have wheel hop to deal with) so you should be dominant again

Pretty much what was said above.

But this really only applies in a straight up drag race. Throw a few curves in there and the older car will suffer very badly. Unless it has suspension upgrades.

Older cars sit higher, are more top heavy, and the suspension is looser so when you hit bumps, curves it will effect your steering.

But then again, if you get an inexperienced driver in the GTO and someone who knows what they are doing in the G35 a lot of things can happen. For example if the G35 has more gears than the GTO that will be in favor of the G35 because it will allow the driver to keep the engine in its power band.

And for racing, please do it on a strip with proper safety gear. When I first got my license I thought I could race anyone in my Cougar and get away with it, was almost in two wrecks. Going 110 down a straight away and hit a bump, it threw the front of the car up in the air and jerked the steering wheel out of my hands. And later I almost slid into a train trying to stop from racing down the same straight.

Good luck on getting a Judge, very cool cars. And remember, when you hit the stip pull the Air-Ram handle under the dash for a few more horses. :)

Experience : Racing Cars and building engines for 5 years ;)
