Avatar is always a part of us

I just watched Avatar again tonight... so much feeling, I was crying most of the way through.
I haven't been able to watch it for the last month and a half or so, as there was always something I needed to do, it it was too late, or I was too tired or emotional, or the time just didn't feel right. I just got another chance to watch it again.
It was perfect.
Avatar is such a beautiful film, and it showed me how things could be, it gave me a completely new perspective on life. None of that has changes. It's as perfect as ever, as emotional as it was that first time I watched it, over a year ago. All that time ago, I was so different. I wasn't expecting any film to completely give me a perspective. I didn't have any real reason to do anything, I was just going through life without ever even realising the problem. Avatar is a single thing worth fighting for. It still is.
Every day, I think of Pandora, and I wish so much I was Na'vi... Every day I think of ToS, the one place on Earth I feel at home, around the people I care about. The place where people See, in the middle of all these skypeople. I was somehow born as the wrong person and I know that, whether or not Pandora is out there somewhere, it's where I belong, and I know that for so many people here, they are the same.
Never lose sight of that :)

It's so true! I experienced nearly the same, while I was watching Avatar last weekend. It was the first time I have seen Avatar in the last six months and I was really captivated. Recently I bought the Avatar Soundtrack and played it on a hifi system very loud. Especially 'You don't dream in cryo' gave me goosebumps :awesome:

Wow -- that's so great, HNM! Glad to hear you had another powerful experience watching Avatar...that's the way it should be.
Oel ngati kameie, friend.

It's nice to wait inbetween viewings I find. For me at least cause then when I watch I really get into it and emotional.

Still, nothing will ever compare to the feeling after the first viewing.

misstammie 03-12-2011 02:29 AM

@ HNM: What you wrote is entirely how I feel when I watch it and how it makes me feel too. AVATAR has honestly changed me forever and my way of thinking on life. Who ever thought a movie would make such a huge impact on my own personal life and well being. I usually don't like to get to involved in things as my nature is to be a bit of a skeptic, a little bit of a pessimist at times, and to always question everything. So for me to be hit so hard by a movie and everything with it was completely unexpected for me, I mean REALLY unexpected. LOL

I also like what you said about being able to "SEE" amongst the skypeople. That is usually my response when it comes to the "haters", I was so fortunate to have been able to "see" and to "get it" where most individuals never did. I am so glad I was able to get the connection, emotion and I am so blessed to have met so many others who feel the same as I do and I might add have a lot in common with besides Avatar. I love my Avatar family and I always will. Thank you for reading my thoughts. ;):kiss:

I have to watch it all the way through soon but for the first time in a while I've dreamt of Pandora and how we can achieve the earth equivalent. :)
I hear you Human No More, I'm sure all of us are so grateful to be able to "see" despite all the chaos around us. I love the little family we have here, that I come back to every single day. :D

Hnm, that was the best way it could be told, and I completly agree. I am a late comer into the family here, but I do feel welcome, and hope to be a part of it for a long time. I wish the best to you(HNM) and all of TOS family.

Aketuan 03-12-2011 08:44 AM

I can totally relate to what you said HNM, and we definitely have a "home" here for people that feel the same way. I feel much more "in tune" with the people here, than with anyone I deal with in my daily life.

I haven't watched the movie for a month...been saving it for spring break, so in a few days I hope I have an experience like yours!

That's pretty much what happened to me about a week ago.. I hadn't watched Avatar in aaages, almost 2 months, but then last week i finally had time to sit down and experience it again. It really caught me off guard - i was just so emotional throughout the whole thing, crying in almost every scene. Maybe it was just because i hadn't watched it in so long, but it was my most emotional viewing of it so far. Since watching Avatar, i had been trying to live a little more eco-friendly, and i guess i let that slip a bit. Watching Avatar last week forced me to wake up again, to see how i should be trying to make a difference.

As misstammie said, i'm just so glad to be lucky enough to have this experience :)

Well said, ma tsmuke... I completely agree :)

You being late to find us doesn't make it any less relevant for you :)

Well said... especially about the message. I've always tried hard since Avatar, but last night, when I was watching, I ended up getting so angry at those skypeople at some points... It makes me wish I could do more :(

ZitaX 03-14-2011 05:48 PM

I havn't watched it in months, but i need to do it again sometime! Just watching the trailer brings back memories of last year like nothing else!

Today, i had the day off, so i decided to go to the cinema, to see if there were any good movies showing early in the day, but alas, nothing interested me! It made me remember how i could ALWAYS go to the movies to see Avatar, how it was always an alternative. Really makes me miss it! :(

Fwel Vitra 03-15-2011 12:43 AM

I had the same experience the other day. I hadn't seen the film in a few weeks at the least, and I was going through Avatar withdrawal. I decided to watch the CE, and I was completely blown away. It was almost a numb, captivating, and yearning feeling coming at me all at once; simply amazing.

@MissTammie: I came here in search of people who saw and felt as I did too, and I certainly found a wealth of familiarity here. :)

Avatar definitely is my drug of choice.

Fighter-of-Wars 03-16-2011 04:33 AM

I'm glad you had a great experience HNM, reading threads like these reminds me (not that I forgot) what Avatar gave me and what brought me here. Such a life changing event Avatar has been for many of us. Every few months when I find a perfect time to watch Avatar I feel so much better, so much more alive, and so full of life.

Human No More 03-16-2011 11:05 PM

Well said. In this life, where people forget how to live, Avatar lets us live through another reality :)
