Avatar MMORPG?

That means Wii.
No. NO NO NO NO. |
I'm just hoping that if he makes Avatar games based on the next few films that the quality of the games are improved and hopefully we get to see/ control the main characters. :D

Those who know me, know my opinions on MMO games - I hate them with every cell in my body. :D
I actually made a thread about this a year ago, outlining the reasons why I would never want to play an Avatar MMO, especially not with members of this wonderful community: Quote:
I want to feel Pandora in my mind, get my own impression of how it would feel to be there. Not really play it out in a game. Playing an Avatar MMO would for me completely ruin what makes Avatar magical. It would dissect the magic of Pandora, analyze every little bit of it, and send it back as number,s data, shallow images of what it once were. Of course, each to their own - and I know there are people around who would love this kind of game. But as for myself, a huge - NO. ;) |
I don't even see how an avatar mmo would work in the first place nor is it a good idea as Eltu said.
|
I have never played an MMO game of any kind.
Personally, I'd like to see a Morrowind/Fallout 3 style RPG in the Avatar universe. |
Well Avatar universe is ideal base to build mmo rpg and it's really great as i love them :),
Two factions RDA and Na'vi ( like horde and Alliance ) Ideal environment for pvp :) but sadly imo only one company could done it right, Blizzard :P but waiting time would be 10 years or even more :P |

so if Nintendo makes a proper console, it might get good, but my bet is that it won't. that said, i don't want an Avatar MMO either. |

Wii investment = SUCCESS! :D But if it's a MMORPG though, I'd prefer if it was like Lord of the Rings Online: no monthly fees please. |
"w00t, level 60, just need a few more unobtaniums and I can go buy an ikran"
Doesn't sound right, does it? |

EDIT: and as for monthly fee's, you get them, or micro-transactions. Take your pick. |
Most free to play mmos with microtransactions end up being cheap knock-offs.
The Avatar universe does not lend itself well to videogames with perhaps the exception of a deep thinking RPG with emphasis on story but that doesn't sell to the mainstream. It all comes down to who is the developer I guess. |

Yup, exactly. The only way I could see an Avatar game being good, would be if it was exactly this - as Banefull said, "a deep thinking RPG with emphasis on story". And single-player, naturally.
But... I don't see that happening anytime soon. :/ |
