PETA, Why the hate? I'll ****ing tell you why.
Wonder why people hate PETA so much? This lovely little infographic here gives some great answers. It's **** like this PETA...
Spoiler: PETA
People Eating Tasty Animals care more for animals well-being than PETA does. |
Don't forget that their VP is diabetic, using animal-derived insulin injections. If she followed her own organisation's crap, she'd be dead.
PETA are certifiably idiots. |
They use bully tactics against their enemies..
Sure wearing fur is bad if an animal is purposely killed just to get its fur. However if you hunted a deer for food and used mostly all of it, including its fur then I see nothing wrong with it. |
I have personally Never heard of PETA, but I am definitely wondering how they are still operating with this track record with the association with Domestic Terrorist groups and all, and I wonder what they're reasoning is to give that arsonist 70,000 dollars was and is, when I look at all the money they have donated to criminals, I think that this group may be a front.
|
People are hypocrites. Will always be, and PETA is no exception.
Sad but true. |
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
They're more a liability to the environmental movement than an asset. These people are taking the exact same laissez faire approach to nature that I warned against before. Mother Nature put us on this Earth together, we were meant to interact. At the same time while our culture today does the exact opposite, and is overexploiting and abusing animals, and destroying their ecosystems. We need to find a holistic medium that is a win-win for both us and them. |
I don't know about you guys... but I have a hankering to go dump some blood on fur coats!! :D
|
Heh, yeah I hate PETA...
They oppose my main hobby, saying that the keeping of reptiles and amphibians in captivity is inhumane... It can be inhumane, but the majority of the serious" hobbyists are doing everything correctly, and their animals are quite healthy. In reality, the herpetoculturists protect wild populations by generating captive-bred lines of animals (from small numbers of imported wild animals, initially) that would otherwise be imported in poor conditions from their home by the thousands, which would otherwise drive dozens of species to extinction within a decade. Instead, we foster the development of knowledge regarding these animals, and the education of others about them, in the hopes of eradicating fear and sensationalism about them and their habits. So far, it has actually been quite successful, and most animals purchased from reliable suppliers these days are captive bred animals. |
Penn and Teller Bullsh!t-ed them (and I agree):
|
Some people don't consider that animals in captivity are often many times safer then in the wild.
Also, I can't remember the last time PETA actually did something helpful for the environment. Honestly, they seem to be doing the exact opposite of what their name implies. |
That's why I prefer the Humane Society. They actually rehabilitate the animals they take in, not just cop-out and kill 'em like PETA does.
|
Well to sum it up, PETA is OUT to LUNCH permintly.
|
Great graphic up there, very good summary :P Yeah, PETA are a bunch of *******s, and then they have the nerve to get pissed at others for seamingly hurting any animal.
|
Like so many organisations they are hypocritical in things they do and what they preach.
|
Ok, I see the general trend here is to bash them and I dislike many parts of what they do strongly, too.
But I want to point out that one should not in anyway base his opinions on such a whacky poster as this one. Check what these sources are about, who is behind them. Check out who the people they do prisoner support for are and check out the companies they oppose against and why. I dont even see why opposing KFC is on that poster (Is there anything wrong with opposing KFC - or the beef industry for that matter?). And surely people can be hypocrites, everyone is, especially everyone who opposes vital parts of the society they live in. Someone promoting solar panels and electric cars is a hyprocrite because he will use coal energy until he gets his solar panels and uses nuclear power to produce these panels and he will use a oil driven public transport bus until he is successful in his advocacy. This obvioulsy does not apply to people doing these things just for fun, but to discredit someone for being a diabetic when it comes to this kind of activism is crazy. If this would be a no-go, then no one in this world ever could stand up against what is. From what I get, their killing of animals indeed is discpicable, their advertisement is at times sexist and racist and they use high profile "VIP"s to make their point, ignoring the possible hyprocrisy in that. This maybe is what you get from trying to operate within the system to change the system - you get corrupted by it. But I think that does not discredit all the ideas they were founded on. Their opposition against animal cruelty and abuse, against companies that create such settings (like KFC and the beef industry) is quite valid. So the upper half of the poster,is sad and horrible. The second half of it I think does not make as much sense - the last statement is the worst, to discredit an organization because a founding member chose not to give birth? WTF! I chose not to give birth either, is this then now a reason to hate and dispise me? But really - I dont want to enter this discussion. I am not even in favour of PETA... just saying please dont just look at a collage poster and form your opinion on that alone. At least check out every aspect of it seperately and see if that makes sense instead of taking it as a whole. Hate PETA as much as you like but dont let that "bleed" to other issues, like opposing animal testing, animal cruelty, mass animal farming, industrial meat processing, whaling, direct actions to save the environment or women deciding not to give birth in an overpopulated world! |
