When it comes to the place created in the movie, which there are no doubt close copies of out in the universe, If I WERE Na'vi, and could be guaranteed a shot at an Ikran, then without a doubt. But without the ability to fly an Ikran, than I am better off on this Hell Hole planet, where one of my ultralight aircraft sits twenty feet away from where I am typing this, on the other side of the door that separates our bedroom from the east hanger. Flying is not just what I DO, a flyer is WHAT I AM. Without the hope of ever flying again, I would make sure that I found something WORTH dying for, and then I would make SURE that I DIED for it.

 Intense. Ikrans were certainly not a big part of my decision, but life on Pandora would definitely be much cooler with them :)

I agree... ikran are a part of what I want, certainly, but I'd even be happy there as a human if I could still communicate with others.
|
If you're a human, there's always flying bases but I don't think anyone can comphrend how wide and vast Pandora really is. There's region upon region that even on foot you would get lost for months.
If I was an Avatar, then yeah -- I'd want an Ikran for sure. |
Depends upon the circumstances. Are we talking Earth NOW or Earth "then"?
Earth Now-ehh possibly, it really depends. Life on Earth, while not great, is probably better then living in a tribal society that does not have access to indoor plumbing, modern medicine, or Taco Bell. Earth now could be saved....or we could just spiral into self destruction. While I may be a cynic I say abandoning humanity as this crucial juncture is not what we need to do. Earth "Then"-uhh did you SEE Earth of then? That one is sort of a no brainer. You would have to be STUPID to NOT want to ditch Earth/Humanity at that point. |
Taco Bell? SRSLY?
Besides that - What little we actually saw of Earth in the movie (in the extras) was not that vastly different from now. Some cyborgs/robots, genetically resurrected tigers and holographic advertisements. Other than that - skyscrapers, concrete, cities filled with masses of people, small crappy appartments for former marines |

Really though the earth of the Avatar time line is ****. Earth now at least has some redeeming qualities so it would be a bit harder to give up. Earth then...not so much. |
Yes I would do it, it would be hard to do, the challenges would be intense, but the rewards would far out weigh the costs, as I love the weather, being able to live with the weather, fly through the sky, and be part of the people would be just more than amazing that is not to mention being able to bond with the world around you.

I don't know yet. I think there is so much things, but here I have famiy, friends... I really don't know, but on end I'll want to go :)
I'll want to fly |

A bloomin' onion and some hot wings. And just for reference, I don't like Taco Bell food and I never have. It just, I have come to realize over the past month if I stopped getting food like that(which I have), even if I liked the food I replaced it with (which I do), I would still miss it (which I do). I'm not saying you should stay on Earth because of Taco Bell, but the idea that it would give someone pause having to give that up should not be a joke or trivialized. |
People are different Crickett, Some would be terrified to leave everything that they ever knew, even if they were coming back in a decade. Others would be like me, bored with this place and, if given the chance, would leave in the bat of an eye, if their soul mate would go with them. In my case Ateyo would have a footrace with me to the spacecraft, we are that much alike.
Most of the people would be somewhere between the two poles. |
Of course I would!!!
