Are you kidding? If someone offered me the chance, I would probably be on board the shuttle before they finished the sentence!

I am sure I am not alone in the feeling that Pandora is the embodiement of a soul-deep longing. The chance to be At Peace if not at rest, part of a vital and vibrant community and to truly share my mind and heart with the world around me and the one I love... in one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen or imagined.

You couldn't get me there fast enough as a Na'vi.

You've put this into words very well, and I couldn't agree more. "Soul-deep longing" is definitely the right phrase -- you are most certainly not alone there. :)

You know, in this place, I suspected that I wouldn't be :). Considering how devoted to Pandora and the Na'vi your average ToS'er seems to be, I thought it would probably be a safe bet.

Thank you for your kind words, though. It is just that kind of response that continuously reminds me that I really do have a home here.

Human No More 04-07-2010 08:12 PM

You and so many more of us...
If I was offered the chance to go to Pandora (with an avatar), I would leave right now.

Loverofnature 04-10-2010 10:36 PM

yes, definatly :)

Sight 04-15-2010 06:06 AM

I would, in a heartbeat.

ZitaX 04-15-2010 10:15 AM

Yes! Whitout a doubt! I would look so good being 10 ft tall and blue :)

Mo'at 04-16-2010 07:15 AM

I defiently would switch life to Pandora from I dislike being short ;)

Taw Makto 05-06-2010 12:52 AM

I would move to Pandora without a moment's hesitation, despite the funky atmosphere.

X.,.Pandora.,.X 05-06-2010 01:14 AM

Ok, I will be honest here, i have family, friends, and a girlfriend here. Earth isnt that bad people, its not like in A.D. 2154 when they 'killed' their world. We live in a beautiful planet with people we care about, why go to a planet 4.7 lightyears away where you could be killed any day, without any guarantee you would get an Avatar. Much less the Na'vi accepting you.... I know this sounds negative, but take a look around.

Taw Makto 05-06-2010 01:20 AM

^^ Dude, you are soooo seriouso! ;) Such wisdom. Good for you.

But I would still go.

Dreaming Of Pandora 05-06-2010 01:51 AM

The journey would take ages, the atmosphere's toxic, the wildlife is ferociously dangerous, the plantlife is hazardous, the fruit is poisonous, the natives are hostile, the landscape is treacherous and is basically the worst tourist destination...I would so freakin' go!! :D

Pandora defies the imagination. It's a place of incomprehendeable beauty, inviting danger and awe-inspiring spectacles. It's a place of tremendous diversity and lush colors. A place of magnificent bioluminescent forests, towering stone arches and gravity-defying mountains. It's a place of heart-warming harmony and peace -- a utopia in the stars. It's a place that holds an outstanding race with even more outstanding beliefs. It's a place where planetary networks question science, question imagination. It's Pandora.

Some would call it heaven, I call it home.

Looper 05-06-2010 03:10 AM

Pandora Power!!!
And I totally agree with you Dreaming of Pandora, what you said is so true and beautiful xD!

So true... Pandora is my home... I'm trapped here with no way back :(

Light Kirin 05-15-2010 05:09 AM

Only if my friends come with me, since they are the most important thing in the world to me.

Woodsprite 05-15-2010 09:44 AM

I wouldn't give up my life here for Pandora; no. A visit'd be wonderful! :D But a lifetime? I think I'll pass. Earth is just fine.

Spock 05-15-2010 10:04 AM

No, I wouldn't. If only for one reason.

tm20 05-15-2010 11:05 AM

I would. There are a few reason, one of them being that the beauty of Pandora and everything it has is something I would love to expirience, but there are other reasons.

I havn't been close to friends and family (although i live with/near them) for the past 2 years or so. I hardly ever talk to them and this has been so especially since this year. Ever since i was little, whenever i was away from friends or family I never missed them. I don't know why but it's probably the same reason why i didn't cry over my grandfather's death. I guess I'm just not connected to people around me emotionally. Actually, I just feel like there is a seperation between me and society.

And if I could join the Avatar program and study the plants and maybe the animals then this would be a dream come true. Meeting the Na'vi would also be a great expirience aswell.

*now that i think about it, it sucks how i havn't been close to my friends and family. comparing myself to friends, now i see why they have been enjoying life for the past years. But i still would go to Pandora...

Naro 05-15-2010 07:17 PM

I'd miss the life on Earth.. But what the hell, yes! :)

Migg3006 05-15-2010 11:14 PM

I think we have to live what we have to live here before and after go to Pandora.
I am not ready to lets all the people I know to go there, but I ready to let my live to go there, if I can bring all my friends and family, yes I will.

neytirifanboy 05-16-2010 12:10 PM

I voted no. I don't deserve it.

SaphirJD 05-16-2010 09:10 PM

Well, leaving behind my family and friends would be a very hard decision.. but well, if i really had to choose i would say for sure yes

Rainbowhawk1993 05-26-2010 02:38 PM

I would problebly Give up life here for pandora because of a number of things:
-Human socoity is becoming ignorent:(
-Pandora is full of adventure and is so beautful:)
-The na'vi can accept you as a sibling among them:)
-In my opinion, Being selfless would go great with being a clan member:)

Aquaplant 05-26-2010 08:03 PM

There's no reason for me to be here, but there's really no reason for me to go to Pandora either.

I wonder was it only the classic saying, the grass is always greener on the other side, that made me want to go there in the first place. Following this analogy, I'd say there isn't any grass on either side, not for me anyways. But judging from some of the conversations I've had with people, they would be perfectly happy in an environment like Pandora, but I no longer see what difference would it make in this reality.

So if I may present a question, what do you think would be the thing, that would bring you happiness on Pandora?

Na'vi_supporter 05-26-2010 08:42 PM

For me yes and no. I love pandora beauty, nature, na'vi. So on emotional level I would really want to be a na'vi on Pandora. But than other part of my mind, which is too much science oriented, tells me not to do it. I like science and I also love Na'vi way and Pandora enviroment, Eywa ... it is sadly kind of contradiction :(. I am not sure they would share my interests, even if it wouldn't influence harmony of life on Pandora. Be considered as a stranger and thus be alone wouldn't be nice.

Same here. However, I would go to Pandora. I would love to escape this crummy world and crummy life. Of course, the earth itself isn't bad. In fact, it's quite beautiful. But people make it suck.

If it were an option, I would choose neither. In both places there will be some form of pain and suffering, and I have had my fill of both. I probably don't have the right to say that being that I'm still young. But I still feel that way. Unfortunately, no matter where you live, there will be pain and suffering in some form. It's when you're not living that you don't have to worry about those things.

Hunter of the Glade 05-26-2010 09:08 PM

We all jump to conclusions and yell YES whenever someone asks us if we want to live on Pandora, but completely forget the fact that Neytiri is taken.

The real question on this thread should be "Would you give up your life on Earth to be Jake Sully." Lucky guy ;)

TBH I wouldn't care, if I was going to live as a Na'vi on Pandora that would be enough.

Knowing that, in living the life I want to live and in taking my life in any direction I want, I wouldn't have to support a faulty societal and economical system which (almost) everyone on this planet is born into and raised to support.

Hah, that was a mouthful. I can explain more if anyone wants!

Exactly, which is why I choose Pandora. I'd imagine that any suffering that occurs on a world where the inhabitants don't even know what a lie is wouldn't be that bad. Plus, Eywa is there to be a shoulder to cry on. One can vent a little at the Tree of Voices, and then maybe get a fly-over from an Atokirina or something as a sign of "I am here for you, I care." On Earth people pray in desperation and often get silence in return. I'm not saying God doesn't exist, I'm just saying our world would be a little more like Pandora if he were a little more proactive...

Toshowlove 05-27-2010 06:40 AM

I am one of the nay sayers!

I love my life here on earth too much to throw all that away for a place i wasn't brought up in, nor could i acclimatize to. As BIOLUMINAWESOME as it is... i just have too many special things right here!

But that's exactly what you are saying. It's like saying my life wouldn't be miserable, if the magic fairy would do it's job. Hello captain obvious, there's no magic fairy, and there certainly isn't such a thing as God.

Bah, what's the point.

Marley 05-27-2010 03:47 PM

I said no because I probably wouldn't be accepted in. Leaving me with no home at all.

Sorry, I've had one of those days..

Advent 05-28-2010 08:46 AM

In a word, no.
Pandora is a deathtrap to the unprepared. You should know what you are getting yourself into. Besides, Earth is our home. It always has been, and it always will be. I would ALWAYS prefer running like a Na'vi in our home forests then on another world, let alone in another system. I would visit Pandora, but I could never live there. Earth gave birth to humanity, yet SOME people are so quick to leave for a deadly moon.

Earth is home. So I will not abandon it.

madman 05-28-2010 08:48 AM

I'd hope to be able to take my wife with me :D, but I would!

auroraglacialis 06-16-2010 12:12 PM

One of these questions again with not enough background. I said yes, mostly having in mind that in the setting of the movie, Earth is no place at all to be. And of course - go on Pandora to do what? Science? Be an Avatardriver? Be a Na'Vi? Still - I would say yes - Pandora holds many secrets that can help Earth, so to research it would help our home. Go there as a Na'Vi? Would be selfish, but despite that it sounds faboulous. :)

Patrice Maire 06-17-2010 05:30 AM

I voted no for a few good reasons. I hate flying, even if it is in cryo; I would hate to have to breath canned air no matter where I went; I'm too old to start a new life on another planet. If I want to see amazing jungles, animals and expansive oceans, give me some money to see this world, I've only lived in one little corner of one small country all my life. I haven't seen enough of it in person to be able to leave it behind. But what I have seen makes me want to see it again.
This world is where I was born, it's worth fighting for and trying to keep what we have alive.
