You should move to West Texas, we were all comfortable in our T-Shirts for my Birthday Bar-B-Que yesterday. But then we are far too South to have seen the show. When I lived in the mountains of north east Washington State, I would put on my heated snowmobile suit, drag out my Chaiselounge, and lie on it, looking up at the celestial fireworks.

haha that's cool! :cool: I got to watch a meteorite shower once in Dubai desert, lying on my back & staring into the sky. It was a very strange sensation, just the land & the sky, & nothing in between. Apart from yours truly. I had eyes like this O_O

After a whole week non-stop of no clouds (that's *very* rare around here, most years only happens once or maybe twice, if at all...) the Aurora came out to play the night the snowstorms rolled in. Go figure.

This is a mantis shrimp (or stomatopod) a very interesting crustacean. It can strike with its claws as fast as a bullet. It can smash the shells of clams and of other crustaceans or kill the animals trough the chock wave of the strike. It can even smash the glass of an aquarium.

Mantis shrimps come in many colors and sizes. They are also among the animals that see most colors.

These tough crustaceans are also among the protagonists in a famous Sci-Fi story by Fred Saberhagen where they save people on a marine research station from crab-like aquatic robots:
