I felt a weird twinge of arousal when...

I knew that would get you to look... Hahah!

No but seriously, I noticed on my second viewing of Avatar, that during the scene where Jake wakes up for the first time in his Avatar body, the voice of that nurse attending him really turns me on... especially when she says "Are you wiggling your toes? Great!"

I don't easily get turned on by just a voice, so i was wondering if maybe other people experienced the same thing. If so, it could indicate some use by JC of neurolinguistic programming (NLP). Which would be a very shrewd way of guiding the audience's emotions.

I thought she had an attractive voice, and yea, when she said, "Are you wiggling your toes?" I thought that was cute... then she was ordered to senate him :P

Don't forget she added, "That's great!" ;)

I didn't really notice, but that might have something to do with me already having enough women constantly telling me what to do in real life lol.

Human No More 03-22-2010 08:00 AM

I really didn't notice that :P

I never really thought of her as attractive- but definitely genuinely caring and sweet, for sure

On the whole sedation thing, I think the guy just made up the name of the drug on the spot, he was like, "1000MG of phlelenemranaphralm" or something.

Hahaha, this is highly possible and likely true!

I'd imagine a Na'vi would be very hard to drug, after all :P

Interesting. The nurse's voice definitely has that sort of calming quality. Have to watch that scene again.

TxonTirea 03-28-2010 12:21 AM

Not really, I found her annoying... <333

Seamus 03-28-2010 12:37 AM

well, the fact that some people have an emotional gut reaction to her says to me that something is up.. Probably not even intentional.... Looking at the vast scope of the film and then hearing some of the interviews with JC on the subject, it is becoming clearer to me that he was moved by something much greater than himself to make the film as it is. I am referring to large-scale synchronicities organized by a super-intelligence. If you like the terminology, you could say he was used as the hand of God to create a fundamental shift in the consciousness of thousands, if not millions, of people on this planet.

Actually she said 'aww you're wiggling your toes!'
And she found it great because she probably knew he was actually a cripple.
