Unless people can make mods afterwards. ;)

Personally, I tend to replay the games I play a lot. Deus Ex 3 for instance, bought it some weeks ago and have played it through 4 times so far. :P

It's the same as watching Avatar over and over, for me... as amazing every time. :D

This though works only for a handful of people (and a handful of games). If the RPG avatar game would provide multiple endings, storylines and such, it would definitely be a lot more interesting.

But... didn't you say you would never watch Avatar again? :P

Yes, I did - it was a hypothetical example :P

I must have missed the question.

No.
Avatar has too much to get old, and it's too well made, in a way that no game could ever compete with, even my very favourites.

While I do agree I've never played a game so far that has affected me as strongly as Avatar - personally, I still think there are games that have the same kind of effect on me - namely, when I completely immerse myself into another world and can experience something that affects me as a person.

Pa'li Makto 10-04-2011 07:14 AM

I think a game has that potential to immerse players..Although Avatar has had more of an impact and immersion for me than any game I've played. Although it's hard for me to keep Avatar fresh after yet another viewing.

I would agree, but I've never found a game that can completely do that, yet. I know it's possible, and think an Avatar game could very well be the one, but for that to happen, it needs to be able to keep itself new as well.

I love the idea of interacting with my friends in the game, and I don't think I'd ever be worried about anyone ruining it for me :P :D The cost would be a major drawback for me though :(

I would totally "play" it, if it was good (= waaaaayyy better pls than the Official Avatar Game). AfaIk there will be a Avatar MMO and I'm already looking forward to it. Though I really hope it won't cost any monthly subscription (like Guild Wars for example).
:airquote:"Play":airquote: because of the fact that I'd rather use it for roleplaying than for actually playing the game/plot/whatever, like some people already do in Second Life, IMVU and so on.
I hope so much for a mix of Skyrim and Avatar, at least regarding graphic, resolution, engine and such.

I know, imagination is fantastic, but roleplaying, chatting, moving virtually with your own Na'vi/Avatar online together with others inside a well executed game(play)... that would be just awesome imho.

And since we can't be real Na'vi or Avatars, I guess that's the nearest we can get to it (at least virtually)...

Human No More 01-18-2012 05:31 PM

I'd rather pay monthly than have it be one of those ostensibly free games that charges for every last thing in game...

Eana Unil 01-18-2012 05:57 PM

Hell no, I wouldn't want a Free2Play MMO either, but that's not the type of MMO I meant.
There are MMOs you buy once and just play for free how often and long as you want to. Like Diablo3 (no classical MMO, but whatsoever), when it will be released.

iron_jones 01-18-2012 09:38 PM

I would play it if I could be a Dovahkiin.

Eana Unil 01-19-2012 09:35 AM

Haha. Apropos Dovahkiin, I hope that the Avatar MMO will be some kinda mix of Skyrim (graphic, gameplay, engine) & WoW ("vehicle" control)... but only even better, more original, manifoldly and that it'll allow you to do as much RP as you want without any restrictions.
