What music player do you use?
Since this is a debate-worthy topic on almost any forum, what music player software do you guys use? My answer is Windows Media Player. (I know, I'm boring. :P)
|
Good old iTunes... Seems to make the job of organisation really good and easy. One complaint I would have is that you can't drag and drop songs into an order, if an album you have ends up with the songs being wrongly numbered.
Other than that, good stuff. |
Yeah, itunes is a bitch in that respect. I use itunes because I must, having le ipod, but for any other non ipod purpose, it's Realplayer :D Realplayer's got the streaming video download function and can convert anything into anything else  I know the question was "music", not "media", but VLC is where it's at for the movies.

vlc. Best player around. It doesn't try to take everything over, it plays ANYTHING that exists, and it has good functionality :)
|
WinAmp. Classic skin. Hell yeah.
WMP on occasion also. - Mikko |
WMP but also just some players on amazon for music samples. ;)
|
Spotify!
|
Itunes.
Apple knows what its doing when it comes to media viewing/editing. |
XMPlay
It's capable of supporting many of the native sound formats from old platforms, like Commodore 64, Amiga, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis and so on. Can't play video though, but that's what MPC-HC is for. |
I use the Microsoft Zune software.
I tried iTunes once but I thought it was really terrible looking and unorganized. http://i56.tinypic.com/2h4wz2w.jpg |

Best media player on windows = Zune, bro |
Yeah, probably best to use actual DJ Software to DJ... ;)
VirtualDJ is generally my choice, there's better stuff out there, but that one is free. And free is usually better. |
I use Banshee:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7821237/Screenshot.png Awesome media player for Linux that lets me easily manage my entire music library, is really fast, works wonderfully. Oh and, it has an awesome name. :D On Windows I use Moovida, which basically is a Banshee port to Windows - not quite as good (slower, more buggy), but still the best I've found for Windows so far. ;) |
I guess I'm a weird person in this crowd that doesn't use any kind of library functionality. It just seems awfully redundant to have multiple graphical interfaces to navigate media files, but I guess the main reason is that I'm too lazy to manage a comprehensive library.
Also, Eltu, what's with the iBanshee look? |
What do you mean?
|
Well I have this thing where I see many media players looking like the iTunes for some reason. Or should I say many things these days seem to be iSomething. Maybe I just don't understand the whole apple phenomenon, as in why everything must look so i.
|
I've never really used iTunes myself, but there may be some similarity I don't know of :P
All I know is that my media player's easy to use, fast, and looks awesome. ;) |
|
Itunes is frustrating. I definitely wouldn't use it if I didn't have an ipod :P
|
I just use iTunes. My sister also uses Windows Media Player though. Nothing wrong with that.

Anyhow, this particular subject matter is like a cancer, and whenever it's brought up, someone is bound to pick up on it, and then we have to listen to some captain obvious going through a list of things we all know, but don't bother to mention because we assume, and rightly so, that everyone else does too. |
