Human No More 10-22-2011 07:31 PM

Real Steel

Has anyone else seen this yet?

Amazing film, certainly the best new film of 2011. It's really well made, and combines the main plot of action and robot fighting with a far more typical secondary one, but they fit well together.

Apparently it also used the simulcam system developed for Avatar in the motion capture, although while the visuals are very nice, they are nowhere near the same level, bust work really well in the style of the film :)

I didn't have much hope for it, (like Avatar haha) but it ended up being a very good movie. It gave me the chills on several occasions, and I've seen it 2 times. Two thumbs up if you ask me. :)

I think giant robot fighting would be cooler with all different manner of weapons and movement systems, but the movie still looks good. :P

I haven't seen it yet, but I plan to. Thanks for the post about it.

Likewise, I haven't seen it yet but thanks for putting this up as a good reminder. :)
Hugh Jackman is a great actor and the mech fighting reminds me of this but so much better:

Ah, Robot Wars... such good memories :)

So hard to find complete episodes though :(

Yeah, the fights are kind of Robot Wars with humanoid robots, but that's by no means all the film is :)

I vaguely remember adverts about Robot Wars..It looks really cool to watch though.
Anyway I imagine that it would be although the ads for Robot Wars is jam packed with action so I suppose people would go to the movie with the Robot fighting in mind. ;)

You sure? Oh well they look similar to me..It must of been ages since I saw a trailer of it. :embarrassed:
That was a fail on my part.
Just fixed my previous post. :P

I do want to see this movie eventually.

I almost saw it yesterday, but it was starting too late :( Might see it today.

When I first saw the ad, I thought it was an engine oil ad for royal purple. Then I realized there was a movie too lol. Idk about UK, but over here it aired with royal purple engine oil together as a double ad.

Haven't seen it yet, but it does look good.

Oh man something I gotta see. My fav chick from "Lost" is in that movie. Epic. Unfortunately I gotta wait till it comes out on blu ray.

Mother of the Forest 10-31-2011 10:34 AM

I just saw it yesterday. It wasn't bad, but it seemed to be missing that key something that makes it great.

My neighbor is actually an extra in this movie! :D
