Speakers
So I have been wanting to get a good computer set up going for quite a while now as I spend a decent amount of time there :D and figure I will start working on sound. I am thinking a 2.1 system but I want a good amount of bass while still retaining good mids and highs for other types of music, these speakers need to be versatile LOL.
I really want a desktop and want to get rid of my laptop but atm that seems like to much trouble :D any suggestions for helping build up a good setup will be greatly appreciated, I am not very knowledgeable in this area haha! Edit: So far I have looked into logitech z-2300, Logitech Z-4, some Altec, Creative, and Klipsch. Thoughts on these? Others to check out? |
Thats one of the ones I have been looking at :D
How is the bass? And would you say it is more of a gaming/movie speakers or more of a music set of speakers? |
The bass is great, I keep my bass knob at around 70% and it's plenty. At 100% it rocks my entire apartment haha, the walls shake and my desk rattles.
I use it for music/movies mostly, but for gaming it's just as good. The speakers come with a cord that can connect to your console cables. |
Sweet! I may just go after those! Great sound for a good price! :D
i have a full stereo setup at my computer desk. 4x shelve speakers, 2x 8in subs. better than any prepacked system you can get :D.
That sounds amazing!!! Got pictures?
ahaha, no. you wouldn't see everything anyways, the speakers are hidden. the subs are on the back of the desk, you wouldn't see much, I'm KINDA a neat freak.
I use my DJ speakers... Yea those are loud!
What speakers are those stanely? Lol oh and on a side note you should have seen the sad excuse for a rave I went to earlier! The dj sucked rotfl :D
I'm running Klipsch Promedia 2.1's and they are by far the best 2.1 computer setup I have used, waaaayyyy better than the creative and logitech systems that I had in the past. Although it's a decent setup if you really want the best get yourself a good pair of bookshelf speakers, powered sub, and receiver.
Last rave I went to was at this dance studio with a huge open room and was PACKED. On every side of me, with maybe 3 inches between everyone, sweaty e-tards dancing and waving their glowsticks in the air :P
Heli, how would you describe the quality of the klipsch? I was interested in these after hearing my uncles theater speakers! Idk if I have the budget to go down the shelved speaker route though unless I've seen the wrong stuff haha!
Yeah this "rave" was a something a college group sent out things for, I decided to check it out and it was pretty much just a semi big room with dim lighting and the dj just sitting there playing pop songs. Needless to say I didn't stay long lmao! |
I use these:
http://www.svethardware.cz/sh/media....8/$file/01.jpg Terratec - Home Arena EPIC wooden sound, but I think they are no longer manufactured... Also, my setup: http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/8104/imagegtd.jpg (you can see 1 speaker below the monitor, 2 are left and right (can't rly be seen) and 2 are behind the camera) |
Klipsch is generally very high quality in my experience. I had some before my Logitech system. I bought the Z2300 because it was cheaper, and I'm not disappointed.
Edit: Is that Fruity Loops I see? ^^^^ :D I currently use Reason 4 but am considering Cubase. |
