Skyrim came well equipped with items to give us protection for both mage and warrior, but they lack in fashion. Even for a person with no taste in fashion would like to see a new color every now and than.
If a person wants to take the route of modding the game, their is one cardinal rule you should follow. A rule that will keep the modded game fresh but still connected to the world of Tamriel. In retrospective, stick with bows and swords, forget about the gun mods is what I'm saying lol. Try exploring a dwemer ruin with a history and you see your follower dressed up as a doll; in my opinion, that breaks the immersion factor almost immediately. How many mods you install is a question I leave to you, but if you don't want to change anything in the game, just it's looks, I'd suggest downloading a texture pack. However modding can be a tricky business when it isn't functioning the way it should. Like for example, you download a completely new set of armor (non-replacing armor set). It's working great, except you can't upgrade it at a workbench for some reason! This is an advanced problem that can be fixed by the right people, the one's who've learned the user-made modding tools (until the official SDK comes out from Bethesoda). Very common problems can be solved by:
I get my mods from Skyrim Nexus. Share your sites! Circlet armor page ============= Once the SDK comes out, I'm making my own house. I wish I could make a quick-travel point to a place in Blackreach, because where else would you like to live. (Fast Travel example image 'Linky') If fast travel is a problem in Blackreach, I plan on making a home in this place: Found both while exploring; a small cabin or house made of stone would do. http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/685...0305165988.jpg Or http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/8...0305231156.jpg ============= Me, and my 516 armor rating mage equpment. (Took awhile to get that high, must of been lollygaggin') http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/5...0406302653.jpg |
Skyrim nexus also has a handy "mod manager" that will download, and install/uninstall all mods, as well as updating them regularly for you.

I've got all three mods I'm using so far from the same site. When it comes to mods, I prefer not to actually change game mechanics or major additions of new things, just improve how things look (and fix the bad menu system :P). Quote:

Yes it is, it was a part of a mod meant for adding things to the smithy. It has slightly better stock armor vses the heavy dragonplate helmet because of it's materials. Kind of reminds me of the Witch King's helm.

I just can't stop listening to this :)

When it comes to texture mods, especially for Skyrim I think of something like this. :P
Though granted, some of the texture mods improve vegetation, clothing/armour detail and buildings. http://plus4chan.org/b/cog/src/132545326657.png The quest No One Escapes Cidhna Mine, was pretty interesting. :) |

:) That's the best way to go about it, same with Apollo.
Was the helmet mod for changing armour values? |
LOL a pony. That made my day.

Also, some people like cheese, it seems: Try it out. "player.placeatme 00064b33 500" :D |
^ Win!!!!
Good news, the man just finished the mod involving the circlets. See for thy self. Made a image. The modder got lazy and didn't tell (or show) the details. http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/8307/circlets.jpg |

Man that's cool. I remember seeing the cheese wheels go down the mountain. :D Anyone seen this? Apollo: That's neat, though the leather circlets still need a bit more work from whoever made the mod. |
