Never thought I'd post in here again :P I barely played the beginning sequence on somebody's xbox as the cat thing. The TV was kind of broken, and the only person around knew nothing about what I was supposed to be doing, so I died :xD: And that was the end of my introduction to Skyrim.

Skyrim should become a whole lot better now that the official High-Res texture Pack and creation kit have been released. :D
Fur looks a lot better now. http://cdn.steampowered.com/v/gfx/ap...g?t=1328636822 Save 33% on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Steam Skyrim:Creation Kit - UESPWiki |

Once you've played the first few hours... you definitely can't stop :D |
I didn't want to stop the first time, but then I had to leave :( Even on a broken TV where all the text is too blurry to read :xD:

O.O
That sounds like a nightmare. I hope you can start gaming soon. Oh yeah I just found this and had to post it on here: http://www.shacknews.com/article/723...-dragon-mounts Watch from 21:25 to see all these interesting things that the developers played around with after they finished Skyrim. There's things like fighting with spears, mounted combat, dark dungeons, building houses, adopting kids, riding dragons and flaming horse skeletons and water and flora improvements. I also saw a lycanthropy perk tree, a werebear and the ability for a character to become a flying vampire lord with imp minions as well as a giant mudcrab. I hope they put at least some of this in a DLC. :) |
Hi,
I'm interested in Skyrim, but I just have a few questions about it. 1. Is there a lot of customisation in the character creation? 2. Does the PC have a voice, or are they silent? 3. Are conversations with NPCs cinematic like in ME, or are they more like Oblivion? 4. Is combat 1st person or 3rd person? The vdeos seem to show both views. |

Anyways, I would recommend to play Skyrim either way, because of one simple thing: The world in which Skyrim takes place (well, "Skyrim") is just so beautifull and stuffed with life, quests, eastereggs, possibilities and atmosphere. Btw, I recently started to play Skyrim the second time, lol. Want to do all the sidequests before I start doing the mainstory now. First time playing I did it the other way around. And after finishing the mainquest I had not have any interest in solving the sidequests _-_ So, yeah... Round #2... |
1. Yes, a LOT.
2. No, they're silent (9? different races, plus male or female == a lot of potential voice acting) 3. Like Oblivion. 4. Either, you can change whenever you like between first and third. It's an amazing game. |
Thanks for the resposes guys. It is what I expected.

ONCE YOU START YOU NEVER EVER STOP! |
What's this Skyrim game I keep hearing about? I've heard that it's really good but I didn't think it would be THIS good... Hmm, now you guys got me thinking. Lol
It's too bad this game isn't an MMO, 'cuz it looks like it could have a great potential to be one. If I could play it online with you all, I'd definitely buy this game in a heartbeat. But I don't think it is? What versions do you guys play this on? The PC or the Xbox360/PS3? I'm interested to know so perhaps I could play online with ya'll one day.. :D |
PC version... Imho the best, for you can use mods and stuff.
|
I have it on PC, it seems to have less problems with bugs, the quality is better and you can take screenshots. :D
|
...and mods :)
Some mods make the game far more playable (e.g. UI replacements, enhanced map), some make it look nicer and some even add completely new content :) |

Very interesting responses guys... Lol how do the mods work? Does it have to have like, a specific program in order to make it work? I've never used mods before in a PC gaming platform and now I'm interested in trying it... Unfortunately it costs $60 in the US to pay for. :'( Lol
*wishes I could be able to play it and have a job to pay it off* |
You can download an archive and extract it into the game folder, you can use a free application called Nexus Mod Manager (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/), or you can use the official mod support - all free.
|
Oh wow! I didn't know they were free... Now that just makes me want to play it more. :D
Damn prices... I'm gunna get me 1 soon! Lol I wonder, is it possible to model ourselves like the Na'vi or similarly to them? |

What's a Breton?
...I need to learn Skyrim talk to join this conversation. Haha |
I like using high elves. Why? So I can be taller then everyone.
I mean, I like the magic bonuses as well, but the height is definitely what counts in the decision. |
Bretons, pff... be a Nord! lol.
Breton, Nord, Imperial, Argonian, etc. ... those are the races in Skyrim. You can't make your character look like a Na'vi, but if you choose to be a High-Elf and use a specific mod, you could get somehow close to it, if you really want to - but I don't recommend it, because... Skyrim and Avatar are two universes which should not be mixed up imho. |

Magic? Eww
There's a headless horseman riding round near Solitude, could it be Ragner the Red? |
Update: This game is fcking expensive and I have no plans to get it :(
|
Never met the headless horseman yet, maybe that's because he's supposed to appear random in Skyrim O.o Maybe one day I'll meet him, too. ~.~
--- And magic, pff... hehe. Bows > all. My arrows would hit you before you've cast your first spell... or even before you see me. >;P --- Moco, maybe you could save some money for it. It's worth the money, though I think it could cost a little less. Like around... 50 EUR here. 60 is still too much imho. |

I've tried a few torrents and they haven't worked out for me :(
|
What are your races here on Skyrim guys? I'm curious.. :D Even though it's expensive for me, I might get it later on...
Moco, do you have a Mac or Windows? |
Windows.
Also, for the record, I was the cat thing the one time I played :awesome: |

@Moco: You mean the Khajiit race? How were you able to play? Through a friend? |

"There once was a hero named Ragnar the Red, who came riding to Whiterun from ole Rorikstead! And the braggart did swagger and brandish his blade, as he told of bold battles and gold he had made! But then he went quiet, did Ragnar the Red, when he met the shieldmaiden Matilda who said… Oh, you talk and you lie and you drink all our mead! Now I think it’s high time that you lie down and bleed! And so then came the clashing and slashing of steel, as the brave lass Matilda charged in full of zeal! And the braggart named Ragnar was boastful no moooooree… when his ugly red head rolled around on the floor!" I saw the Headless Horseman by chance on Dragon Bridge. :D I tried to follow him but he was really fast! Quote:
