There will always be garbage entertainment that is popular for one reason or another, and rallying against it is just silly. After all, we have things like reality TV...

To be fair, Twilight is arguably worse than shallow garbage. When you analyse it, it contains and seems to promote some fairly disturbing ideas, especially in the case of Breaking Dawn

Well I don't really know anything about Twilight other than what I've heard, that it's really bad. Perhaps I should educate myself by watching the movies, unless the stupidity within is of 'my brain hurts' variety.

Are we talking about the books or the movies?

Both; it's more focused on how the characters interact, and how the story works.

(Although there is equal flak for stuff like the "west coast of Brazil." Go on, get a map, I'll wait. :D)
