Personality Types

This personality theory called Enneagram theory to an outsider can appear somewhat mysical, and has been compared and contrasted with the 7 Chakras as well as the zodiac. However, although complex, the Enneagram is all about personality, no more, no less.

I tried this out at Learn Na'vi, an the most common type was 9. It had me wondering if the traits of a 9 has someting to do with the message(s) of AVATAR. It even had me wondering if Cameron is a type 9 as well. I'm testing this out here to see if 9 will end up the most common type (and also to confirm that the traits of a type 9 are not necessarily associated with the language).

There are 9 basic types (I recommend exploring around a little):

Type 1: The Reformer
Type 2: The Helper
Type 3: The Achiever
Type 4: The Individualist
Type 5: The Investigator
Type 6: The Loyalist
Type 7: The Enthusiast
Type 8: The Challenger
Type 9: The Peacemaker

Each of the 9 types are grouped into 3 main triads:
2,3,4: the Heart triad, shame fixation
5,6,7: the Head triad, fear fixation
8,9,1: the Body/Instinct triad, anger fixation

1,4,7 often turn their shame/fear/anger inward, while 2,5,8 turn it outward. 3,6,9 tend to take on traits of their neighbors in this respect.

The Enneagram doesn't stop there. There are several other triads out there.

Spoiler: Hornevian Triads

Spoiler: Harmonic Triads

Nė'i'a, some tests for frapo to check out :D

RHETI sampler test (Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type Indicator): 36 questions, succinct and accurate.
A Very thorough Enneagram test: this is a 3-part test. Long, but incredibly accurate. This blog also has some links to other personality tests.
From these tests, and most others, you can determine your main type (Highest score of all), tritype (Highest in each Heart/Head/Body triad), and wings(Highest number adjacent to your (tri)type). If you are curious about your instinctual variants, I found this test :)

I didn't include the wings in the poll, but feel free to mention them in your post. Same with instinctual variants. Livu ngaru tė'o' fpomsė :D oe newomum! :D

Kop, if you're curious about my type, it's a 9. The one type I have 0 amount of is 8. I'm not assertive at all like an 8 and tend to be paranoid of them.

Interesting. I'll have to try this out later.

None of these fit me... MBTI is much more accurate, I think.
4, 5 and 6 all have both accurate portions and massive degrees of error, to a point that I think it's just random chance in terms of distribution.

I haven't found a personality test that can accurately categorize anyone, humans are just too different from one another. That said, I scored a Type 9, but second place was a tie between 6, 2, and 5. In all of the types that fit the most there were glaring inaccuracies as applied to me, but all of them fit more or less equally. :S

Edit: Took the full test just now. Got a landslide in 2, with 6 and 4 at second. Makes even more sense, I guess. Though 8 and 9 also fit me in some aspects.

While I will probably try it out because it's interesting, my problem with personality tests is that I don't always act the same way. Maybe sometimes I'm shy around others. Maybe sometimes I'm outgoing. Maybe sometimes I'm distant because I'm thinking about things. So I can display different personalities, not on purpose, but just by way of happening.

Perhaps displaying/adapting to different personalities is a personality in of itself. Could you be a Type 9?

Thanks to everyone so far for your replies. Eltur tėtxen si nėngay!

I've already got your response back at LN, and I know you're not a 9, irayo.
