It has some quite horrible and vulgar moments, and even I was surprised by it! Anyone who has seen it will understand when I say that Stanley Kubrick (the director) just barely changed my view on Beethoven's 9th and Rossini's The Magpie Overture :S DAMN YOU KUBRICK!!! :shoop::shoop: But except from that the movie is a true piece of art. Acting is tremendously well done and the overall theme really makes your mind twist and turn along with Alex's (the protagonist) progression throughout the movie. It felt like an 3 hour film even though it only is 2... strange.

Oh man. That movie. I know what you mean, it does mess with your head and I had not heard Rossini's Thieving Magpie Overture before, so now whenever I hear it (and why does it have to be so damn catchy??) I always think of...well, you know... Very good movie, but damn is it disturbing!

You wouldn't happen to have read the book, have you? If not, I definitely recommend it!

It's one of those films that people worship, like Citizen Kane. I've found that most people who do haven't seen it, and such films are always going to be a disappointment when someone does.

Reminds me a little of all the talk surrounding the Eragon movie. Though I'm not sure if there were masses of people who supported it.

Speaking of dragons, I should watch How to Train Your Dragon again. ;)

How to Train Your Dragon is the reason I'm not even going to rent Skyrim. Dragon slaying? No siree.

For your viewing pleasure

As for the last movie I watched: John Carpenter's The Thing.

Pa'li Makto 11-22-2011 02:56 AM

YAY! Thanks for that. :) *hugs* Toothless and Hiccup are such a perfect duo, both forming a complete whole. I hope they make more movies based on the rest of the books.

I agree 100% on the dragon slaying bit. :S Maybe I'll buy Skyrim but find a way for someone else to do the dragon slaying, or just leave my profile when it gets up to the dragons..

The Thing..Isn't it pretty frightening?

Yep. I'm actually REALLY not a fan of horror movies (real life is frightening enough IMO), but I found that I actually liked it.

Pa'li Makto 11-22-2011 03:02 AM

Ah well, it should be pretty good then. :) I think I turned off horror movies after a while..They don't seem as good as they used to be with all the gore and not enough story. Though I think 28 Days Later was one of the best. :)

As for movies, I do want to see Happy Feet 2 when it comes out. :D

I'm kind of on a lifelong quest for good horror movies :P Sure, they don't come often, but even the bad ones don't often disappoint me. Rather, I can laugh at how bad they are :P

I challenge you to survive watching Hatchet 1 and 2.

I don't watch horror movies that often because I've reached the point where there's nothing that can offend or scare me :P

LOVEavatar 11-23-2011 03:54 PM

HNM, you are THE DRAGONBORN!!! Now go and face your fate! *summons a dragon*

Edit: Hold on hold on :xD: This is set in New Orleans! No way am I not going to laugh the entire time. No way.

2nd Edit: If anything, I won't survive how utterly bad these are :( They're not even that funny, though there are a few moments.

Last movie I saw was Unstoppable.
